Two adorable single girls live below us. I don't have many IRL friends, but we often share wine and cigarettes. They are so cool about eight year old jumping around above them and baby crying at any given time.
They pet-sit for us when we left town for thanksgiving, and now they have both left for three weeks for Christmas. I cried when they left, because they are virtually my only social outlet. But...
Not only do I have TWO ovens now to warm our Christmas meal, two refrigerators to store our meal, but I can also wrap presents down there without being walked in on, store Santa's presents so they don't get discovered, AND work on my gift-project for SO in private. Speaking of which, special shout out to the mom who mentioned the cutting board/wood burning tool idea. You said to do it with your kids' art but I am just doing it with my own. Thank you for the fantastic idea.
And, to try to bring this full circle, thank you neighbors for letting me craft and cook in your space. It's like, I'm having serious, far-away alone time, but if the family needs me, I'm right downstairs. Best of both worlds. Cheers!
