1 bedroom available in 3 bedroom apartment starting September, rent $1075/mo (Jamaica Plain) bostonhousing

Located in a beautiful neighborhood that doesn't even look like it belongs in the city. 5 minute walk from Green Street station on the orange line. 1 bathroom, in-unit washer and dryer, very nice appliances (dishwasher, refrigerator, microwave, range & oven), and an outdoor deck.

One of our roommates is leaving us following this term, so we will need a new third to re-sign the lease. I am an undergraduate student graduating next December and planning to attend graduate school; my significant other will be moving in with me in my room after this term, and may be able to contribute to rent pending employment (which would cut your share of rent down significantly). Your other roommate would be a Ph.D student studying pharmacology at Northeastern University. Neither of us party hard, and we're both exceptionally agreeable people.

PM me if interested and I will send you pictures, you can also ask us any questions via PM or commenting on this post.

1 Bedroom in Spacious 2BR Apartment Available 11/1 in Davis Square (Rent is $1,050/mo) bostonhousing

Here's the Craigslist post: http://ift.tt/2xrwdF4

My roommate is moving back home to the West Coast so I am looking for a young professional (late 20s/early 30s) that is gay friendly to take over the room. The apartment is on the first floor of a two family house. Three people live in the upstairs unit. My roommate will be moving out by October 28 so you would be able to move in any time after that date. You would be signing a lease from November 1 - September 1, 2018.

Particulars: -Rent is $1,050/month + utilities -Includes 1 covered parking space in the driveway -There is a washer and drier in the basement as well as additional storage throughout the apartment -No security deposit is required -The kitchen has a new refrigerator and gas stove -The owner of the building lives close by and is very responsive and nice -The apartment is an 8-10 minute walk from the Davis subway stop and is also very close to the bike path (you can also catch a bus from either end of the street)

This is my fifth year in this apartment - it's a wonderful living space in a great location. My ideal roommate is someone that is quiet, considerate, and friendly. I work downtown at a law firm and enjoy cooking (especially homemade pasta), playing piano, and running in my free time.

If you are interested in the apartment, tell me about yourself in your response and include what you are looking for in your living situation.

Cheers!

Room for Rent in Somerville (9/1) bostonhousing

My current roommate is moving out, so I'm looking for a new roommate in my 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom apartment in Somerville. Available as early as 9/1, but I can be flexible about the dates! The rent is $1250 per month, no fee.

Further details about the apartment:

It's a nice apartment. Hardwood floors, new appliances (refrigerator, stove/oven, dishwasher, microwave), and a landlady who is pleasant and responsive. The bedrooms have decently sized closets. The building is quiet and includes free onsite laundry and a shared deck/grill. The rent includes heat and water.

I walk daily to Davis Square for my commute, but Porter is also within walking distance. There is a bus stop a block away with service to the Red, Orange, and Green lines.

More about me: I'm a 29-year-old IT professional who works in downtown Boston. As a roommate, I'm quiet and generally neat. I like board games, hiking, knitting, and cooking. I'm out and about pretty often, but when I'm home I'm probably crafting, watching Netflix, or reading a book.

It would be great to find a roommate who likes the occasional Netflix binge as well!

Please feel free to message me for more information or for pictures.

$987.50 monthly. Your own private bathroom & bedroom, with one roommate; garage parking included. A fifteen-minute drive to all points in Boston generally, and a maximum of twenty-nine minutes during peak traffic hours. bostonhousing

Consider being my roommate for thirteen months, in a great 2-bedroom apartment I already have, where you'd get your own private bathroom. Since we would have separate bathrooms, this can be a nice, affordable, very lucky alternative to a studio or 1-bedroom. Near the "T" Orange Line. A fifteen-minute drive to all points in Boston generally, and a maximum of twenty-nine minutes during peak traffic hours.

In other words, it's no farther from "Boston-proper" than Brighton is, for example.

This Everett apartment is available any day in July or August which works best for you. Please see the pictures in my Craigslist ad (including a roof deck shared by all residents and open pretty much always ... I made a 20-second video of it). No smokers, no pets, no couples; but anybody else is welcome to join me.

Fairly recent construction; low-turnover residents who aren't too young. That means the place is far less likely to have bedbugs than a typical Boston-area apartment. I've honestly never seen any insect in here at all, except an occasional fly that sneaks through a window.

The rent includes: a free garage parking spot; your own private bathroom (as I mentioned); heat and hot water utilities; our own dishwasher; our own air-conditioning and heat controls; ample carpeting; over thirty washers and dryers on site; and roof deck access. In short, it's one of the fanciest apartment complexes in Everett. See its official website.

I wonder if you own a bicycle? The splendid Northern Strand Community Trail has an entrance within riding distance. This trail has gotten a burst of attention since approximately 2014.

Your share of the monthly rent, not including electricity and internet service, would be $987.50. Plus, there is a security deposit of $500.00 which you'd get back at the end of your stay. You would NOT need to pay a broker fee or last-month-rent in advance. On that note, remember to beware of other apartment ads which neglect to tell you about the broker fee, security deposit, and whether you need to pay last-month-rent in advance.

What do you think? If you want to visit, I request that you boldly specify the days/times that you'd like to drop by (evenings, weekends, mid-day, whatever ... I'm flexible). If you say you want to visit, but you do not specify exact days/times, I probably will not answer. Because I'll believe you are just spamming me with the same "form letter" you write to everybody. Plus, feel free to provide your phone number too, if you want.

There's a simple application process to qualify to live here, for a $125 fee, which screens low-income/low-cash candidates and those with criminal records. This would benefit you by ensuring you can trust me and all your potential neighbors too, since we've already been accepted! Moreover, I'm courteous and I have all the basic cleanliness habits you might want--I take off shoes before entering, I never store unsealed food, I cover non-solid foods before microwaving/baking, I always lock the main door, I always store things very neatly in shared spaces (like the refrigerator, the freezer, and the coat closet), I never make loud noise, etc.

Thank you.

$935 - 2BR/1.5BA - Seeking female roommate for spacious duplex with great view (May 1) bostonhousing

Hi there,

I'm a quiet-loving, low-key professional female in my 30s seeking a compatible female roommate to share a 2-story duplex (1080 sq ft) with a view of a pond on a residential cul-de-sac.

Photos available in the Craigslist ad: http://ift.tt/2n4Zeo6. I've also included the details below.

Upstairs has 1 large bedroom with 2 full closets available (250 sq ft total), plus 1 shared bath and 1 hall closet with shelves.

Downstairs has a living room with windows facing the pond and plenty of light. Also a full kitchen with a dishwasher and refrigerator, 1 half bath, and our very own washer and dryer.

Large shared driveway plus easy street parking. No traffic (dead end) and mostly neighbors with young families. Landlord conveniently lives across the street.

Easy access to I-95, I-93, main street/downtown, restaurants, gas stations, shopping centers, etc.

Rent for your room and common areas is $935. Heat and hot water included. Utilities have averaged under $65/month per person for electricity and Internet. Available May 1.

I've been living here almost a year. I work Mon-Fri including at home once a week, and travel every few months. I'm sociable in a board-games-and-trivia-with-small-group-of-friends way and enjoy the occasional music/theater/dance show, but can also happily binge-watch TV online or relax with a book at home.

Roommate must be female, nonsmoking, clean, respectful, responsible, and financially stable. Preferably no pets. Landlord's approval required.

If you're interested, please share your background and what you're seeking. We'll see if we're a good match!

I 26[F] am looking for a roommate for my brighton apartment staring 2/1/2017 through at least 8/31/2017 bostonhousing

Hi all,

My name is Sarah and due to some unforseen circumstances I'm currently looking for someone to join me as a roommate in my 2bed/1bath apartment on Washington St. in Brighton. It's located right across from bFresh smack dab in between Brighton Center and Oak Square. It's an awesome location with free, non-resident street parking and I'm in my fifth year in the apartment. You'd be signing on to the lease through August 31, 2017 and we can discuss potentially renewing in the late spring. Rent is currently $1750/mo (so $875 each). Unfortunately the heat is electric, but the bill is generally $50-$70/month total. I'm also signed up for internet only through RCN, which is an additional $50/month total. You'd likely need first month and $875 security deposit to move in. I'm posting this here before I turn to Craigslist as a last resort.

I'm a 26 year old female graduate student in the life sciences. I'm finishing up my PhD in the next year or so, which means I'll be doing a mix of going into lab and writing from home. I've got a desk in my room, so even when I'm working from home I shouldn't be taking over too much of the common areas (living room, kitchen, bathroom). I'm fairly introverted but do like to have a pleasant, friendly relationship with my roommates. I have lived successfully with both male and female roommates, so gender is not a preference of mine, nor is gender identity/orientation. I believe in keeping the lines of communication open and avoiding passive aggression so that we can both be comfortable in our home.

I went to college nearby and have many friends in the area that I see occasionally. I don't often host large gatherings in the apartment, however. I also run ~5 days a week and enjoy finding road races in the area and am more than welcome to a roommate/running buddy a couple days if you're interested!

You'd also have a third roommate - my (almost) 5 year old lab mix, Bear. He's 55 pounds and one of the sweetest dogs I've ever cared for. He can be a bit anxious, and requires that I vacuum a few times a week, but he's an awesome cuddler and would love it if you're a dog person that'll sneak him treats behind my back. I'm unsure as to if the landlord would allow any additional pets, and am hesitant to bring a cat into the apartment as Bear's never lived with one and has the tendency to try and chase cats on walks to try and play with them. I do not think he'd be aggressive with one, and if you are seriously interested in the apartment and do have a cat we can absolutely introduce them to see how they interact. Again, this is something to also be negotiated with the landlord.

The building is made of condos, so each unit has its own owner. My current landlord bought the unit in 2013, after I had already begun living here, and has been great. She lives in Texas, so she's absent most of the year, but is immediate to respond to any emergencies and very quick to respond to any non-emergencies. She's incredibly kind, easy to talk to, and understanding. I have a great relationship with her and I'd hope that my future roommate could have the same.

The apartment itself is currently completely furnished outside of what would be your bedroom. I do have an extra dresser that was left behind if you'd like it; if you'd rather bring your own I can easily remove it if needed. The kitchen is stocked with small appliances (except for a toaster, somehow) and has an electric stove, dishwasher, and large refrigerator.

I've uploaded some images to imgur so that you can get an idea as to what the apartment is like. These images span about six years, and the unit is furnished differently (outside the kitchen and bath) than in any of these, but I'm happy to send some updates photos of the living room to you at your request! Here's the link: http://ift.tt/2iLzo4l

If you're interested in stopping by to meet with me and Bear and to see the unit, please send me a message. I'll be going out of town Wednesday evening (Jan 4) through Tuesday evening (Jan 10th), but am available limited times before I leave and am happy to arrange a time for after my return.

Best,

Sarah

No Fee 3BR available in excellent location in Porter Square avail 11/1 bostonhousing

Great 3BR 1BA apt available 11/1 in the heart of Porter Square. This apartment is close to everything with a quick 3-minute walk to the Red Line, Star Market, and many local bars & restaurants. The location can't be beat, especially if you don't have a car. Both Harvard and Davis squares are a quick 10-minute walk or T ride away. Located on the 2nd floor, this unit has a front porch to watch the world go by and a back porch to kick back and relax with a beer. Between the back porch and the shared yard below, we have hosted many fun filled barbecues and get togethers over the years. The kitchen has newer appliances with the gas stove and refrigerator having been replaced in the past year. Two good sized bedrooms and one smaller bedroom plus the living room and single bathroom round out this apartment. Washer and drier are in the basement where there is plenty of extra space for tenant storage. If you have a car, there is plenty of street parking readily available and the option to park in the nearby school lot on weekends & during snow emergencies. The landlord is fantastic and very responsive. This apartment has everything and after 3 years here it's sad to move out but job changes are splitting up the band so we three are going our separate ways.

PM if you are interested. First & last month's rent to move in NO FEES, NO DEPOSIT! You would take over our lease which runs 11/1/16 - 8/31/17.
