Hey,
I've started having the problem since yesterday. I was playing, and all of a sudden the computer shuts down. I tried starting it again, nothing. No led, no booting, nothing, entirely dark.
I waited until today, still nothing, so I undid my whole installation, moved it to another power plug, tried it with minimal peripherals (one screen, one keyboard), and it started fine. I put it back at my desk, plugged everything back, starts fine.
Then, a bit later today, I was playing and here comes the same problem again. If I try pressing the power button, nothing happens, but if I unplug the power supply from the power outlet and plug it back in, it usually starts fine again (it didn't work just once, and I just had to unplug/replug it again).
I've tried monitoring the temps but it's hard keeping an eye on them all the time, especially as the crashes are totally unpredictable, It'll take 5 minutes of playing just like it'll take 10-15min or even more...
So, what do you think ? I really hope the PSU isn't busted, I kinda doubt it's an overheating problem as I did not notice any. Is there some software I could keep running, that would log everything (temps, voltage, etc) non stop so after the crash I could check what happened right before the crash ? When I'm not playing the computer doesn't seem to crash (I know this points to a temp problem, but once again I tried monitoring it and I didn't notice neither the CPU nor the GPU heating up too much).
One detail about what happened : yesterday when it crashed, I also noticed my Mac charger (which is plugged somewhere else in my house) did not work anymore. The charging light wouldn't light up when plugged to my Mac. And when I tried plugging it to another power outlet, it worked fine. Then when I plugged it back into the "faulty" one, same, it worked fine. That's very odd, maybe something global happened to my electricity installation, leading to weird stuff like that ? Nothing else broke down (no lights, not my refrigerator, nothing), just these two, and the Mac charger has been working fine since then.
