Frigidaire FGHT1832P0 Top Mount Frigde with ice build up. Help! appliancerepair

I have a Frigidaire FGHT1832P0 Top Mount Refrigerator, about 3.5 years old. It's been having an issue with ice build up for a while now, especially on the top ridge of the freezer door. I replaced the gasket, also looked for leaks in the gasket, cleaned the coils in the back and had a repair tech look. He said it was likely just an air leak along the gasket. Even with all that there's still ice build up (I suspect some of it is the fact that my cats go up on top of the thing and put their weight on the door itself. I've found the door slightly ajar many times from them going up there).

The last thing I did (after paying for a technician to come out) was take everything out and look in the back. Link to what I found. It's clear as day something burned out. To me it looks like a part of the evaporator kit (part #5303918274 per the parts manual found here). I'm assuming on top of the issue of air occasionally getting in thanks to cats that the self defrost is not working right because of this. Can anyone help shed some light on what the hell is burned out and how I can fix it? I find it annoying that the manual itself doesn't even show that bit of wire and whatever else, and it's hard to come up with information on what exactly that is. Thanks!
