Okay, so this just happened, and I'm going to retell it as best as I can.
It's hot as balls, it's late at night. I've taken a break from my writing to watch American Gods, laying on the couch. I've pretty much disrobed, just in my boxers since it's so hot. Sorry for the ugly picture, but it matters. Any change I have is in my Jeans pocket, currently on the floor.
I got up and went to the bathroom, washed my hands, and then came into the kitchen. I grabbed some peanuts and a bowl from the pantry, and a can of soda from the refrigerator. As I walk back into the family room to sit at the table, I hear a coin hit the floor at my feet, and there, still settling, is a quarter.
I have no idea how this happened. I have no pockets in what I'm wearing, and I wouldn't put coins in my boxers even if I did. My jeans were at the far end of the couch, so a coin didn't fall from the pocket of it as I passed them, since I didn't. I can't image how a quarter would get into the pantry or somehow on a can of soda in the fridge. And if, somehow, one stuck to me as I laid on the couch, it sure survived a lot of walking before it fell off of me, and I did not feel it at all.
Bonus that is certainly just coincidence, the quarter is the 2005, Kansas state quarter, featuring a buffalo...which is one of the mysterious figures in American Gods, which is still on as I write this.
Pretty weird...
