Lg lfx31925st French door refrigerator
Fridge portion works fine and is holding temp at 34f. Freezer is not holding temperature.
We have had a few issues with this fridge since we got it.
The first issue was the ice maker fan freezing up not providing cold air to the door ice maker. I replaced the whole freezer back panel with a brand new one with the built-in in heater for the fan. This was probably May/June time period.
The ice maker worked again and we had no issues up until about a month ago when the ice maker stopped dropping ice into the ice bucket. We didn't notice an issue with the freezer at this point as everything still seemed cold enough.
Yesterday I noticed that the ice in the freezer was melting slightly so I moved some stuff out to chest freezer hoping we just over filled it.
Last night everything was defrosting so I moved everything over and turned the fridge off. I pulled off the back panel and cleaned the coils as that had some dust and dog hair on it.
After a thorough cleaning I turned fridge back on and observed the fan kick off and it starting cooling.
I placed a thermometer in the freezer and watched it. This morning it was around 26 degrees , and when I came home at 11 it was 16 degrees. My wife said it got down to the 0 degrees it was set at earlier. By the time I left to go back to work it was 25 degrees and my wife said it was 41 degrees an hour later.
TLDR: fridge ice maker stopped working, replaced the freezer back panel. Everything worked up until last month when freezer wasn't staying cold enough to make ice. Now freezer is not staying below freezing.
I am planning on removing the door and pulling the rear panel off tonight to check the coils and see if I can locate the defrost timer system.
Please advice, thank you.
