First time camper- cold parts of the USA vandwellers

Hi all,

I'm a first time van dweller, and I'm heading to cold territory.

I plan on driving from Portland to NY over the next month.

I'm looking to buy a Chevy Blazer or a Lincoln Navigator (I know they're not 'vans' but I think they could work regardless?). I plan to "Black out" the windows.

I looked at an Astro van, but it's my first time in the USA and I really like the idea of a super american car.

My main concern is the cold. And as the car will be a lot of glass- the cold transferring through and making my car into a refrigerator?

Will a sleeping bag/mattress overcome the cold?
