Okay, so this IS kind of funny looking back on it. At the time that it happened I was actually REALLY hurt by it, but... The whole thing was so dumb that I giggle about it anymore.
Anyway! My Nmom 'needed' help watching my baby siblings and wound up talking me and my boyfriend (now husband) to move in to help out while her husband was out of state for a few months for training. Things were awkward and uncomfortable enough, but we managed until we had a massive storm here that took out the power for the better part of 2 weeks. Lots of damage, people were hurt very badly, very very bad storm. We were lucky that nobody got hurt. Anyways, the storm comes and goes, power comes back on, and we're cleaning out the fridge. I had JUST bought a gallon of milk for the house an hour before the storm hit, so we've got this freaky, nasty spoiled milk jug in the fridge. I took a picture of it and posted it online because, you know, it was gross and kind of freaky. Didn't think too much of it.
Several days later, however, my Nrents are at HIS family's reunion and I get a text demanding that I take the picture down, and that I'm not allowed to take pictures of HIS home, HIS family, or HIS life ever again. I was hurt and sent the text to my mom and she told me the exact same thing, then follows up with a text stating how they were embarrassed because of my photo and EVERYBODY made fun of them. At a family reunion. After we just had a massive storm and just about everybody in the freaking state had similar horror stories in their refrigerators after the fact.
We moved out that day, and my husband was just in awe about the whole thing. He kept wondering if people just... Formed a circle around my parents and pointed and laughed for a solid hour or something. It was so ridiculous to think about that all I could do was laugh despite being hurt so bad.
For the record, I never did take the picture down. It's REALLY gross. XD
