I repaired the clockwork on the ice maker a couple of times - there is a design flaw where one of the heater connections narrows to a very small cross section. Last repair held for several years. Then the maker started intermittently making ice, stopping for a few days and then cranking back up again. It always stops with a full tray of ice. I figured the timer clock motor was failing. Cost of clockwork wasn't much less than price of whole new ice maker so I just replaced the entire unit. Same problem - intermittent ice, sometime going for weeks between runs. When it does run it will keep at it until the ice bin fills up. Presently, it has been stopped for a couple of months. So - problem is likely not in the ice maker itself. Local connections near the maker are good.
Anyone know if this is a common issue with this model? Ideas of where else to look for loose connections? How much dis-assembly is required to get to the main control board, wherever it may be?
