So, I have a vending machine I was trying to put up in a clinic waiting room, but it was drawing too much energy from the line it was on. The microwave, refrigerator and vending machine would shut off when the microwave finished cooking. To solve this I hired an electrician with the approval of the clinic owners to put in a new line. The clinic owners gave me the go ahead and not much else.
When the electrician came in he said he could only put in an external outlet because the wall the machcine was on was a fire wall. After about 3.5 hours of me helping the electrician run mc cable through the roof he said he had to go before finishing the job, but said he'd come in early tomorrow morning to finish it. I said this was fine.
The next morning, one of the clinic owners tells me that the line looks unprofessional. I tell the elctrician we can't continue, but thank him for putting in the cable and pay him for the parts and labor.
The clinic owner is telling me that it's not up to code for whatever reason. He's telling me I shouldn't have had to help the electrician. I was charged about 500 dollars for what would be about 3.5 hours of work+labor. Assuming what the clinic owner(who legitimately is a reputable contractor and nurse practitioner) says is true then what are my options for getting back some of the money I spent? Is there any sense in having him help me with a signed affidavit as leverage?
