Tires and Waves nosleep

I finally got a yellow punch buggy. I've always wanted one, especially when I found out that the motor was in the trunk. I decided to drive back to my hometown, for the sake of nostalgia. I turned off the highway onto the gravel road I remembered so well. The sun was low in the sky, and shone onto the wide open fields. Fields of wheat glowed toasty gold and looked like plush feathers. The only backdrop was pine trees for days. The air is the cleanest I have ever breathed.

I spotted the house I grew up in, and it looked worn down. The weeds were overgrown, and an ugly vine had taken over the left side of the house. The siding looked warped and was falling off in some spots. The sight made me queasy and nervous.... As though I was going to get into trouble. I maneuvered my brand new car right onto a dirt road on the side of a forest. I'd never drove down the trail, but only walked it with my childhood dog. The sun peeked through the trees the same exact way it did when I was a kid. I slowed to a crawl and took in the majesty that was around me. Brand new baby trees, great old trees, fallen trees, tree stumps, and that clean smell of pine. It's a smell that I almost hate, but feels so good. It's a smell that lingers and refreshes, but I wish it smelled different. I spotted what looked like a swamp that had never been there before. There was a cluster of cat tails, and it triggered and immediate flashback of elementary school. There was a baseball field with a row of cat tails right next to it. I squinted my eyes, wondering where the hell a pond could form from. Possibly the heavy winters, or maybe the unexpected rain falls. All of a sudden, it felt like I had been shoved into a huge tupperware bowl and somebody was beating on it with a wooden spoon. I opened my eyes and I had crashed my precious punch buggy. My beautiful, yellow punch buggy. Yellow, the color of sunshine, my favorite color when I was a child. I ran it right into a stump, and I could tell I did a great job because my punch buggy was facing toward the heaven. I was out of the car and could see that my two front tires were not even touching the ground. I immediately forgot about it and continued my journey down the trail.

I felt as small as a child, and the path seemed wider than I remembered. The sun seemed to rise in the sky and was streaming spotlights through the branches of the sky high trees. I've never seen one in real life, but I swear they were sequoia trees. They were incredible. The size, especially the height, of these trees was overwhelming. I saw a cluster of something high up in a tree off in the distance. My curiosity piqued, and I began to jog closer to the tree. I began to notice that there were a lot of cats in this forest. I could see that there was a tree fort in the tree. Seemed strange to me, considering it was so far away from anything. I looked past the tree fort, and saw a huge tractor tire up in another tree. The tire looked to be about eight feet tall, and was tied between four branches with thick rope like you would use on a boat. I realized that they were everywhere, in all the trees. There were up to three tires per tree, and they were fastened so perfectly and securely. The sun shifted and the tires sparkled like they were powdered with diamonds. There were cats crawling in them, on them, over them..... They were jumping from tree to tree. I was so lost in the quirky beauty of the trees in the tires that I did notice just how many cats there were. I began to hear their low murmurs, and it was like the volume got turned up. These cats were screeching, and growling, and fighting each other. They were crawling up the sides of the trees, they were flying from one branch down to another to attack each other. They were falling from high up in the sky, to their demise where they were crushed by the ground with no cushion. Their cries were horrifying, and my skin crawled so hard it felt like razors were being dragged over my body. The cats caught sight of me and would not look away. One triggered another which triggered another, and soon enough all their creepy eyes were pointing at me. Even more frightening, the sun set in fast forward in a manner that was not scientifically possible. Suddenly, I was Snow White and the forest was attacking me. Eyes glowed in the distance and I turned and ran the fuck away. I didn't get very far before I tripped and fell.

I woke up in a bathroom that I have only seen in the movies. I single light bulb hung from a chain and of course it flickered. I was facing the sink, looking into the mirror. Behind me were only shadows. I leaned in closer to get a good look at myself, and I looked terrible. I looked like I was in the middle of a hardcore meth binge, and I had roughed it in the wilderness. I opened my mouth from the pain in my eyeballs, and my tongue was black. It startled me, and I tried to focus my eyes. Black oil started pouring out in large amounts. It tasted incredibly acrid, and I was terrified. What the hell was happening to me? I gripped the sides of the sink and gagged from my toes to my throat. I vomited and it was nothing but what looked like old motor oil. I fainted out of fear for the second time in one day.

When I realized what was happening, I was running with absolute horror running through my veins. I was running for my life, and I was going to win. I came to a room, and saw a refrigerator on my right.

"Just grab a soda!" a man's voice echoed. I suddenly felt ashamed and idiotic. There was a door to the left of the refrigerator and I ripped it open. What laid out in front of me was the grandest back deck I had ever seen. It was stained a deep mahogany color, and had walkways and railings. There were some smaller decks, all attached. There were sets of stairs, big and small. There were awnings and benches as well. Best of all, there was an incredible pool. It was the largest pool I had ever seen in my life. It glowed a sea green with gold flecks on the edges of my vision. There were glass panels all around the pool, and a scene of mountains, a river, cliffs and the sunset caressed my eyes. I walked to the pool and looked in. Waves were crashing in the pool, back and forth. I locked my eyes into the chaos, and could not look away. Slowly, I came to the edge of the pool, lost in the ocean-like sounds of the waves. The wind had kicked up, and was pulling on my hair. The waves grew taller, and were reaching further out for me. My eyes grew bigger, and my hands reached forward. The waves crashed and grabbed my hand. I locked fingers with the strong waters, and it pulled me in closer. The waves embraced me, and hugged me into its chest. The weight pushed me to the bottom, and I looked up at the distorted sky. The waves looked different from the bottom. They jumped for the sky, and dove back down to the bottom and wrapped its fingers around my neck. I held my breath, thinking I could win. I tried to fight, but my body was lethargic. The waves crushed its grip, and crushed my spirit. Like a fool, I gasped for air. I fell asleep for the last time.
