A little storm swept through yesterday and knocked out the power around 3:00pm or so. No air conditioning is less than ideal in August, in the Houston area. No computer, no washing machine, nada, until after midnight. So I am interested in finding out what size generator it would take to power the whole house when this happens. (Several times per year.) I want it to at least power the central AC unit, refrigerator, 2 computers, a television or two, and the various U-verse receivers. Would be interested in any input from people with knowledge/experience with standby generators. Thanks!
