My refrigerator has stopped working twice before this and my superintendent wouldn't bring in anyone to repair it. He just said unplug it and let it defrost. These previous two times, there was condensation visible at the back of the fridge and a bit of ice buildup if you looked up into roof but the freezer still worked properly.
This time, the fridge has some cold air in it (though not enough to keep things cold) but the back doesn't have condensation or ice. The freezer still works, and it may be my imagination, but it feels colder than usual. When I went to clean behind the fridge, I noticed a tube going from around the freezer downward to beneath the fridge. There is a gap around the tube where ice has formed behind the freezer (not inside of a compartment, but physically behind the fridge after moving it from the wall).
Any help would be very appreciated. This is an old looking MOFFAT "Frost Free" model. If it isn't an easy fix, I'll try pestering my superintendent again with the new development.
