Lesson 8.5. - Cocktails PercyJacksonRP

Today we're going to make cocktails.  she says with a smile Nonalcoholic ones of course. You've got the ingredients you need on the table over there. she points to it on the table there are also pictures of the cocktails with the instructions below them

 Hocus Pocus Fizz

1 1/2 cups pineapple juice 1/4 teaspoon almond extract (or 1/2 cup rum) 1/4 teaspoon Imitation Coconut Extract 3 drops McCormick® Red Food Coloring 2 drops McCormick® Yellow Food Coloring 1 bottle Welches® sparkling white grape juice (or sparkling white wine) Cranberries (optional) 2 tablespoons sugar 5 drops red food coloring  5 drops yellow food coloring

Mix pineapple juice, almond extract, coconut extract and food coloring in a small picture or large measuring cup. For each drink, pour 2 ounces pineapple juice mixture into beverage glass. Top with 4 ounces sparkling white grape juice. How to Rim Glass with Orange-Tinted Sugar: Place 2 tablespoons sugar in small resealable plastic bag. Add 5 drops McCormick® Red Food Color and 5 drops Yellow Food Coloring. Seal bag. Knead sugar until the color is evenly distributed. Pour out onto shallow plate. Dip rim of beverage glass in water, then into Orange-tinted sugar to lightly coat. To top it off, drop cranberries into the glass to float on top.

 Arizona Sunset

 Ice Grenadine 1 cup Sprite soft drink 1 cup orange juice Maraschino cherries or orange slices, for garnish (optional)

Place ice in the glass. Add a splash of Grenadine. In a small pitcher or other container, stir the Sprite and orange juice together. Slowly pour over the Grenadine. Garnish with cherries or orange slices, if you want to.

 Cranberry Rosemary Refresher

 2 cups water 3 fresh sprigs rosemary (more for garnish, if desired) 1 pound fresh cranberries (makes about 1 cup of juice) 4 apples (makes about 2 cups of juice) Ice

Add water to a covered saucepan or small pot and bring to a boil. Add the rosemary, and lower heat to a simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let steep, covered, for one hour. Chill in the refrigerator until ready to serve. Juice the cranberries and apples. Mix with the chilled rosemary water. Garnish with fresh rosemary sprigs and serve over ice.
