I won't say the #BlackLivesMatter movement is entirely without merit, but the fact that anybody sympathizes with Brown baffles the Hell out of me. Could it be possible, not to side with Wilson because of racism, but because Brown and his family are pretty shitty people? Watch that convenience store video - the giant beast assaults and threatens a poor shopkeeper minding his own business, before making off with stolen cigars to roll blunts with. He was facing multiple felonies already, if he ended up arrested. The video shows he was ready to terrify and attack law-abiding innocents. No surprise that he'd get all defensive when approached by law enforcement, or that he'd attack a cop at the slightest provocation. There is entirely no evidence that Wilson was a sadistic, racist murderer who shot poor blacks because he could. If anything, Brown and his family represent thuggery in its purest form - a willingness to violently attack society for no higher purpose than hedonism - be it Michael terrorizing shopkeepers and police officers, his father screaming to provoke riots after the courts were unsympathetic for his late loser son, or his mother violently attacking and vandalizing the other parent for trying to capitalize on her son's comeuppance. This family is a dysfunctional pack of losers, representing the very worst of black America.
I don't sympathize with violent criminal thugs like Rodney King of Michael Brown or Freddy Gray because despite being unfairly born into shitty circumstances, they chose the easy way out and turned to benefit by breaking basic societal rules and immiserating others. Go ahead and compare the Baltimore rioters to Robin Hood - they're only hurting themselves in the end. There are good ways out of poverty and marginalization - thuggery isn't one of them.
Before you tell me how bad they have it, consider that most have running water, refrigerators, at least one car, a smartphone, basic education, and Internet access. Large swaths of Earth's population can only dream of being poor in America. Waves and waves of immigrants have gotten through on less. What's Black America's excuse? What makes them so eager to revert to third world behavior, when the going gets tough?
