30M, 5'5", 140 lbs, white, New York, recent gallbladder removal.
I have a refrigerator that is 2 years old (Frigidaire) and it has an inline water filter which was replace 2 months ago. Per the instructions of the filter, I ran a gallon of water through it before using it. I have had no issues with the water until the last 3 days.
Everytime I drink the water, I get diarrhea within aout 5-10 minutes of chugging 8 oz of it.
I have had the water tested and nothing is out of spec except it says the hardness is 120 mg/L which is unregulated by the EPA but the WHO says this level is healthy. Additionally, the magnesium level is 13 mg/L (I know Magnesium at high levels has a laxative effect.)
I have purchased spring water from the store and it gives me no trouble. I tried it as a control in an experiment on myself.
I want to get to the bottom of this (this is the second time a filtered water has done this to me). I want to make sure my water supply to my house is safe. What should I test for? Why would this water make me so sick so quickly?
Thanks in advance. TTIBS
