I hate having to prep food before I cook. I know it depends on what foods, but how long in advanced can I peel, chop, dice foods before they go bad? NoStupidQuestions


To be clear, I'm not cooking anything, just spending a day peeling, chopping, dicing, shredding, etc foods. No heating up and no combining with anything other than water because I'm probably going to wash my produce. Are all food spoilage rates increased by doing this? How long will commonly used foods spoil after doing this? how long will they last in the refrigerator? How long will they last in the freezer?
