Ghetto joystick desk mount for less than 10€ EliteDangerous

I live in a shithole where it seems to be impossible to get the right components to make these things yourself so I had to MacGyver something up. The goals were that it should be detachable, relatively solid and have enough space to hold the disassembled halves of Thrustmaster Hotas X. I also wanted about 10cm of elevation difference between my desk and the stand to hold the stick and throttle more comfortably. I already had the wooden desks at home so I saved an euro or two there.

What I ended up getting were 3 L corner metal plates / wall mounts (I'm not really a DIY guy so I don't know how these things are called). Two are identical (for the jaws), one is longer and holds the wooden plate. The most ghetto thing about the whole setup is that I had to superglue the nuts on the inner side of the bottom metal plate to fixate them and prevent the screws from turning freely. If I had more room I'd simply use a wrench to hold the nut in place and then screw the screw in.

There are couple easy and cheap ways to improve this setup:

a) put some caps on the screws to get a larger pressure area. I actually bought some but found out at home that I don't have enough space to use them.

b) use leg screws (with plastic grip caps on them, stuff you find at the bottom of refrigerators and similar) if the holes in the plates are big enough. This makes it really easy to detach the whole thing.

c) weld the nut to the metal plate instead of using the superglue.
