I accidentally set a magnet like this on my macbook pro with retinal display that was purchased new last year. The magnet was placed next to the touchpad, like where my palms sit wen I type. It was there about 30 seconds. I didn't have any problems but I did some research and read that if the hard drive is damaged it might not be apparent until I restart. This happened about 30 minutes ago and I've been working on my computer with no problems since.
My question is: do you think this could do damage (the magnet is definitely stronger than a refrigerator magnet) and how can I find out?
