Two days ago, I was installing some light switches (swapping dimmer switches back to regular ones). I popped the circuit breaker on the rooms with switches that need to swapped out, and left a few outlets live. I then accidentally opened up one light switch box that wasn't turned off. Then i heard a pop and the frig (which is right next to me) started to crank and make louder-than-normal noises. I opened the door and saw the light inside the frig to be MUCH brighter than normal and noises up a few notches. After a moment the lights went back to normal brightness and loud noises went away. Thinking it was okay, I paid no mind until a day later and realize it is not cooling anymore. There is no fan noise of any sort, but the inside light is still ON. the Fridge is a Whirlpool, as far as I can tell, it doesn't have a mechanical Defrost Timer, but rather a electric module. some friend told me I " pulled a neutral on a multi wire branch circuit."
now is the Fridge gone? I still hear some noise intermittently. The Fridge part is definitely not cooling, and the freezer part I cannot tell because it is still cold from all the food that's inside.
