I was packing my lunch for work last week, and I took two little cups of Jell-O (flavor: Lemon-Lime) out of the refrigerator to take with me to work. When I arrived at work: no Jell-O. I figured I must have left them on the counter at home.
When I got home, no Jell-O to be found. Not on the counter, not still on the shelf in the refrigerator. Not in the garbage. Not in the trunk of the car, where they might have fallen out of my bag. Not absentmindedly set on a shelf in a cabinet where I might have reached for something else that morning. It's as if they vanished into colorful, gelatinized air.
It's over a week later, and they're still MIA.
