CROCKPOT AYAHUASCA BREWING INSTRUCTIONS


You can brew Ayahuasca in a crock pot! I do, because I can’t devote personal time to the initial brewing/washing of the tea.


What is “washing” ? Washing is basically brewing the same plant material multiple times in fresh distilled water. Crockpot method allows all ingredients can all be brewed in one go, but two brews of the same plant material in fresh water is recommended.


For this easy recipe you’ll need 1 gallons of distilled or filtered water and these ingredients (serves 2 people)


500g of B. CAAPI


100-150G of Acacia Root Bark (chipped, or whole, then crushed)


100 ML White 5% Acidic Vinegar


1500-2000ML distilled water


2g of Lemon Balm


0.3 ML or 6 drops of lemon essential oil


10g of Sodium Carbonate/Baking Soda


Put all the ingredients into a crock pot. Pour in the 50ML Vinegar, Add enough water to cover the ingredients (1500 ML Put the lid on, set to high, and let it be for 4 hours.

Come back after 4 hours, stir, if you need to add more water to keep ingredients covered, do so but without any vinegar. Cook on slow for 4 more hours. This is our FIRST WASH. Turn off the crockpot and allow the pot to cool enough to safely handle it with pot holders, remove the crock from the pot. Next, Put a screen mesh pasta drainer into a large mixing box, and pour the entire contents of the crock pot into the strainer, allowing the fluids to pass through, but retaining the plant material.


Put pot back in crock, place all plant material back into crock pot, add another liter of water and only 25ML the amount of vinegar


Put the lid back on and cook it again on high for 4 hours, and low for another two hours.


Repeat the steps where you remove the crock, pour the contents through a strainer into your mixing bowl, this is our SECOND WASH of the plant material.


You can do another wash of the plant material if you wish. I always squish the plant material in the strainer to squeeze out the remaining fluids from the plants. You can now throw away the plant material.


Pour the combined liquids into a stainless steel pot, over medium low heat and reduce to about 1 cup of liquid. The reduction process is one to keep an eye on because if you leave he kitchen the tea could all evaporate, leaving a sludge, so you need to keep an eye on it as it reduces.


If you have to leave the kitchen for more than 10 minutes TURN OFF THE HEAT!

Otherwise keep stirring and reducing the liquid further and further until you have about 400ml and you are ready to remove it from the heat, let it cool, then pour it into a measuring cup and put into the refrigerator un til ready to use!


You can reduce it to any amount, I reduce my tea to 400ML (200ML per dose) its nastier tasting in lower doses because its more concentrated but less to drink.


Let it sit for a while in your fridge, the tannins will precipitate and concentrate in the bottom, making a much more clear brew. Then pour off the good tea until the sediment tries pouring out. Allow the remaining tea/sediment to settle and then pour again. Then add sodium carbonate (baking soda heated in the oven at 400 degrees for an hour) 10 grams for every 400 ml of the brew. Once the alkaloids settle, filter them out using a coffee filter.


Two grams of Lemon Balm is made into a tea by steeping it for 15 to 25 minutes in hot water with a cover over the cup to prevent the escape of "volatile oils". Next mix the lemon balm tea with the brew and add 6 drops of lemon essential oil.


Please make sure to read the list of foods/liquids to avoid prior to consumption since this kit contains two or more MAOI materials.

You should fast 4-6 hours beforehand, just water only, and you will need to stop any medications you are taking for 36 hours beforehand and afterward, less if it does not interact with MAOI’s.
