So, over the past couple days, whenever our refrigerator kicks on (or we turn on the washer/dryer or microwave), our lights in the kitchen, living room & dining room all get brighter for a second, then return to normal. When I googled this, only thing I found was that it could be a loose service netural. I really have no idea what that means.
So I called the electric company, who was supposed to send someone out today, not sure if they did or not. They asked how long it's been happening, & I told them a couple days, & they said that they'd had some people call with in the last couple hours to report their lights flickering too. I reiterated that our lights are getting brighter, not dimmer. All she said was that they'd send someone out.
So, my question, is the neutral the problem? Could it be something else?
also, possibly related, but the DirecTV receiver in our living room isn't getting power, & the dish guy is supposed to be out tomorrow. Is it possible a surge messed up my dish? (we've unplugged just about everything else that we don't want to get damaged)
