Bought a huge bag of carrots and let them all rot PointlessStories

I'm fairly overweight, and so I'm always trying new things to lose weight. One time, I just thought I'd go on my own self-invented eat-a-fuckload-of-carrots diet. I knew that the Safeway I work at has these huge bags of carrots, like 20 to 40 pounds of carrots, mainly used for juicing or feeding horses. I went there and bought one of these enormous bags for 8 dollars, and went home and started my diet. Basically whenever I got the craving for something sweet, I would eat a carrot instead. The bag said to refrigerate the contents to keep them from rotting. The only part of a cooling unit that was open for use at that time was a freezer, not a refrigerator, in my basement, so I put them there, thinking it'd be okay.

It was not okay. all the liquid in the carrots froze, leaving the carrots as limp, mushy orange tastless things when I unfroze them to eat them. I tried to put some in the refrigerator out of desparation, trying to save them, but eventually I just had to get rid of them because they started to rot. I hate being wasteful, and I was really disappointed in myself for that whole incident.
