Carbon Fiber Fuhattan vs Copper Stingray Clone comparison. electronic_cigarette

Hey guys, I mentioned in a comment that I was about to get my carbon fiber Fuhattan a little earlier today to go along side my copper Stingray clone, and a few people asked me to compare the two since a lot of people grabbed a Stingray as their first mechanical mod (like I did). So I'm going to do a quick review and comparison of the two with my opinions.

First off, while I've been vaping for about 2.5 years at this point, I only got into mods and rebuildables within the past 3 months so I'm still a beginner by a lot of standards, but I do a lot of research and this is something I've very quickly become interested in so hopefully this helps people looking to make a decision.

I bought my Hcigar Stingray from my favorite B&M a few months ago as an intro mod, and after working with an igo-w upgraded to a copper plumeveil shortly after.

I got this Carbon Fiber copper FUhattan from vapingwalrus today and out of the box, it's really impressive.

Sleek and shiny look with the glossy carbon fiber and some nice copper accents at the top and bottom. It's a little bit heavier than the stingray, but considering the larger size I'm a little bit surprised. Firing button hits incredibly smoothly, way smoother than the Stingray, and the magnet is CRAZY powerful. Strong to the point that I would recommend against holding it up to a computer or smartphone screen and try to keep it away from any small tools or screws you're working with. It does stick to my refrigerator which is kind of cool though.

I'm currently using it with my 22mm copper plumeveil from 101vape, with a dual twisted 28g build on a 0 screwdriver coming in at exactly .3 ohms. I can honestly immediately tell that it's hitting harder in the FUhattan than the Stingray. I had assumed there might be a tiny bit of a difference between the two since they are both full copper, but the FUhattan has really surprised me with it's power.

For some comparison and contrast, the Stingray is nice in the fact that there isn't a firing pin that has to be adjusted, unlike the FUhattan and many other mods. You just put your battery in and tighten the base until it fits properly. The FUhattan also doesn't have any kind of locking ring. This isn't so bad as the magnet is more than strong enough to hold up the mod's weight while standing, even with a battery and RDA on top, but I might be a tiny bit worried carrying it around all day in my pocket as it could theoretically fire on it's own (though it hasn't happened yet).

The FUhattan is also a 24mm mod, so most standard 22m RDAs and RTAs won't sit totally flush. This might not be a big deal to a lot of people and it really isn't for me, but it's something to consider when purchasing.

I have pretty big hands, and honestly I really love how beefy this mod is, feels a lot better in my hand than the Stingray, and the carbon fiber looks fucking sweet. It doesn't get hot, has decent battery venting without sacrificing aesthetics, and is built VERY solidly for a clone.

I definitely think the Stingray is still a better intro option for most people, just due to the simplicity of use and not having to worry about adjusting pins and using tools to change parts right out of the box, it fit all of my devices and I didn't even know about adjustable pins until I started doing more research about mods in general.

Honestly, while I may just be excited to have a new mod, I can't imagine the Stingray will get a ton of use in the foreseeable future, other than maybe if I'm going to be walking around all day and don't want to risk it going off in my pocket. At work, home, and in the car I'll probably be rocking the FUhattan the majority of the time. It hits harder, and gives me less issues on the button, plus it looks a lot better, especially since my black copper Stingray has become just a copper Stingray due to the problem of the black paint flaking off that many other users have dealt with.

I hope that gives potential purchasers a little bit of insight! If anyone is curious, I have a Kayfun 3.1 coming later this week that I can go over as well.

TL;DR While it has a few weird stylistic choices and is not as noob-friendly as the Stingray; the FUhattan is a massive powerhouse of a mod that will definitely become my #1 until further notice.
