I'm not Catholic, but I love the practice of Lent. One year, we went vegan, another year we went raw. For the last 3 or 4 years, I've wanted to give up booze but always failed. And now here I am!
It's been a disaster of a week financially with car repairs (two!), refrigerator repair, dog getting a few teeth extracted, and a few more house repairs. Before, I would have drowned the money anxiety in more than a few drinks. Today, I took a deep breath, re-strategized the monthly budget, and took the neighbor's pup to the dog park. Now, my dog's home and we're taking it easy until he feels like himself again.
