Homemade canabutter stopped working after few days treedibles

We tried this YouTube recipe and it worked perfectly fine 3-4 days since we cooked it. We have stored it in the refrigerator. Now even with a comparatively large quantity, there is no effect. I'm not sure where did I go wrong.

Question about cannabutter. treedibles

After I have infused the butter do I need to let it harden over night in the refrigerator or can I use it straight out of the double boiler after straining?

I made my 1st Edibles. My report treedibles

I bought a Magic Butter machine and tried my hand at gummies. I am super excited to report they are great.

My recipe was using 153% Grain Alcohol and 3/4oz decarb product and the 4 hour option on the MB machine. I had a yield of 42 large gummies made with minimal loss from the pan and utensils. I bought raspberry flavored gelatin and sweet and sour coating for the finished gummy. The sizes of the fish shapes are 10-17 grams each and the large bar shape are 30-35 grams each.

I tried a half of the fish (~8 grams) shaped gummy and found a beautiful light high of an 8/10 - 10/10 for the night.

Would do again. I am keeping most of them in the freezer, and keeping a few at a time on the refrigerator.

Least perishable and "on the go" ways to use cannaoil? treedibles

I just made cannabis oil with coconut oil and lecithin. I know I can use this oil to make food, but isn't food pretty perishable? I don't get high very often, so I like that coconut oil is very non-perishable. It takes like a few years to go bad. But if I were to make like brownies or whatever, they can go bad much faster.

So I was thinking of just leaving the cannaoil as is, and then eating it whenever I wanted to get high. But that would not be great when I'm "on the go" and not at home. Like I guess I could carry around the oil in a vile and just drink it like a shot lol. Seems weird. At home, I have it in the refrigerator and I can put it on some food and eat it.

Then I thought of making capsules, which seems like the best idea. I never did this. Would the capsules disintegrate over time? Or if I store the capsules somewhere hot/warm, like in my pants pocket, would the capsules melt? Thats where I can see a problem with it being "on the go" friendly.

Anyone have suggestions for a very non perishable and on the go friendly way of using cannaoil?

(xpost from r/trees) First Time Edible Storage and Dosage Help! treedibles

I just bought an edible for a trip tomorrow down to the beach. It was 10$ for a (550 mg) club bar in a sealed pouch. I have never done edibles besides homemade firecrackers.

I need help on how to store it. It says perishable ("store in fridge") and was made on 7/5/17 but doesn't have an expiration date so I'm afraid whether or not it went bad or not. I share a refrigerator with my parents so how should I store it in the fridge being discreet as possible? Possibly take the edible out and put it inside a closed container? I don't want them finding out or worse someone accidentally eating it.

Also, how much should I take at once? I'm thinking a small bite but I don't want to be dead. This post was pretty run-on but I'm scared and excited at the same time, so I'd appreciate any advice...

u/halcyongw's Legend(OG)dary totally baked Mac n Cheese treedibles

Difficulty:easy Prep time: 1 day Potency: If I did my math right 1/8 of a pan is 109mg (but I've also eaten this much while writing this) You will need 1/8 Legend OG 1/2 stick butter (I use 1/4 stick of actual butter plus 1/4 stick of a healthier spread) 1lb yellow American cheese (sliced or diced) 1 1/4 lb cooked noodle of your choice (I like to use large shells) 1/4 cup milk 3 oz shredded cheddar 1.5 oz crumbled bacon or bacon bits 1 sauce pan cheese cloth 1 container for cooling butter 1 large mixing bowl 1 pot for cooking the noodles 1 11"X9" pan

Section 1 Cannabutter (if you already have a preferred canna butter recipe skip to section 2) DECARB Finely grind your 1/8 spread it out over a cooking sheet in the oven and bake it at 220 for about 50 minutes

Bring a small sauce pan of water to a boil melt the butter into the boiling water once melted add your decarbed herb boil this mixture for 3 hours strain contents of sauce pan into cooling container using cloth (I saved the "cooked" herb in the freezer) Let this cool in your refrigerator over night

the next day the butter should have separated and solidified on top drain the waste water from underneath (I've heard you can do things with this but I've not tried) you should now have 1/2 stick of canna butter

Section 2 Cheese sauce Start melting the American cheese and milk in your mixing bowl in the microwave stirring every couple minutes. once you get a consistent hot mixture dump in your 1/2 stick of canna butter keep stirring until the butter has completely melted and mixed in

Place the cooked noodles in the 11"by9" pan pour the cheese sauce mix over the noodles mixing it in sprinkle the bacon bits evenly across the top Sprinkle the shredded cheddar evenly across the top

Cover pan in foil and bake at 300 for 15 minutes

Enjoy

Made ABV coconut oil. How long until it goes bad? treedibles

I had a lot of ABV saved up so I made some infused coconut oil. I made quite a lot of it, and put it in two plastic containers and chucked them in the refrigerator. Is this a good way to store it? And how long can I store it before it goes bad?

Critique my current extraction method treedibles

Don't have all the best materials on hand, but this worked fairly well with my first extraction.
1. Break weed up into small nugs wrapped in aluminum foil. 2. Preheat oven to 250°F, decarb for 30 minutes.
3. Grind weed. 4. After grinding, melt coconut oil into oven safe measuring cup with grinded bud.
5. Preheat oven to 200°, put in measuring cup, stirring every 20-30 minutes (thanks /u/OldHippie read this in one of your comments). 6. After oil is done, strain into mason jar. 7. Top off with water, place upside down in refrigerator to separate oil & water and the last little bit of plant material (DO NOT DO THIS IF USING LECITHIN)
8. Pour water off top.

I haven't tried adding lecithin to my edibles. Does it really add they much or is it placebo?

Also this batch of brownies were fairly thin, and I noticed each time I've tried them they take about 2 hours to kick in (friends experienced the same). Could this be because they're so thin, there's less fat to help the THC absorb? My only other edible experience was a brownie about twice as big and I began feeling it within 30 minutes.

Medicated organic peanut butter treedibles

This is something I have wanted to try for a while, there's not a recipe. I started with a 500 g jar of Kraft natural peanut butter [chunky because I like chunky]. I poured ~1/4 C of oil off of the top and infused it with 3 g of cannatonic. I then mixed the oil back into the peanut butter along with a teaspoon of salt because the organic peanut butter doesn't have any, and poured it back into the jar. I didn't want to add anything to emulsify [keep it together] so I'm going to store it in the refrigerator. Using the numbers from my LP weed container there's approximately 9 mg of CBD per tablespoon.

Normal preprocessing for the oil, dry, decarb, infuse with the oil. I didn't strain it because there wasn't very much plant matter going into a fairly large quantity of peanut butter. If I was making a stronger batch I might. If you like chocolate you could conceivably add a bit of sifted cocoa powder mixed with an equivalent amount of icing sugar, I wouldn't exceed a tablespoon of each initially but it would be tasty.

Unfortunately because this is CBD instead of THC it's going to be hard to tell how effective the process was but I really wanted to know if this would work or not so I just used a very small quantity to try it out.

Easy PB "Fudge" treedibles

I wanted to throw together a quick edible with some high CBD weed I acquired. It wasn't enough to make a full batch so I infused a third of a cup of cacao butter (after decarb of course), mixed it with peanut butter and maple syrup and ended up with a surprisingly tasty medicated "fudge".

This is not from a recipe, the ratios I used are below. I don't think this would work as well with coconut oil, cacao butter is much harder at room temperature.

1/3 Cup infused cacao butter 2/3 cup peanut butter [I used planters crunchy] 2 tablespoons real maple syrup [no substitute]

Mix well, pour into a parchment lined 8" x 8" pan or use silicone candy moulds. Put in the fridge to harden, if you've used a pan instead of a mould take it out of the fridge, cut into appropriately size squares, store in the refrigerator.

I don't know how long they will keep but there's really nothing in there to go bad I'm gonna keep mine in the fridge. If you have any questions I will keep an eye on the post. If you're interested in silicone moulds I find the best place for them is homesense/tjmaxx, just make sure they're real silicone and not a cheap knock off that will melt under high temperature.

CANNABUTTER RECIPE USING RELCAIM ONLY 3 STEPS treedibles

!!!WARNING EXTREMELY POTENT!!!

When incorporating this butter into edibles, use 1g of final product (cannabutter) per 1 edible.

What you will need:

7g of good quality relcaim 1 stick butter Pan Rubber spatula Parchment paper Cookie sheet

No need to decarb oil since it has already been heated

Step 1: Melt butter over low heat, until it is completely melted and just starts to steam.

Step 2: Start stirring the reclaim into still hot melted butter in pan. Remove from heat still stirring till it is completely mixed throughout.

Step 3: Pour into a pan line with parcment paper then put in refrigerator to cool till sold.

DONE! Use in a recipe or make single edibles.

REMEMBER THIS IS POTENT, SO WHEN MAKING EDIBLES EVEN IN FULL BATCHES THE RATIO IS STILL 1 GRAM CANNABUTTER PER EDIBLE!! YOU CAN ALWAYS EAT MORE LATER ON IF YOU NEED TO.

Can't taste my oil in cereal square treedibles

Hi everyone,

I'm a long time smoker, but a complete beginner when it comes to making edibles. After seeing a guide OldHippie posted in a thread, I decided to give Fruity Pebbles squares the ol' college try and believe I did things correctly.

I just bit into a bar expecting a somewhat flowery taste, but I only catch a faint trace of the oil at the end. I know it's too soon to be worried since I haven't allowed enough time for the edible to kick in, but I can't help but assume I made a mistake somewhere as this is my first batch ever. I followed a typical cereal square recipe that called for 3 tbsp. of butter / margarine and yielded 12 pieces. My oil is fairly fragrant so I'm wondering whether I just need to use more of it (I used 3 tbsp.) Could I get some feedback on the extraction process I used? Thanks!

  • Decarboxylated 1/2 oz. of shake I bought at a local dispensary (maybe I need to use higher quality flowers?) in the oven at 225°F on a baking sheet for an hour

  • Transferred flowers to a Dutch oven with 2/3 cups of virgin coconut oil, put the lid on, and put it back in the oven at 225°F for an hour (checked it every 15 minutes to stir)

  • Strained into a mason jar through a coffee filter and squeezed out all the good stuff

  • At this point I decided I wanted to do a wash as well since I've seen it recommended. I added some cold water to the oil, shut the lid, and let it solidify in my refrigerator over night

  • Drained excess water this morning, melted oil, and transferred into a clean jar

making the most out of mediocre butter treedibles

hi there. i have about 1/2 cup of herbed butter (ok, coconut oil) left in the refrigerator and i'm about out of brownies in the freezer. the problem is, my butter just is only mediocre.

i'd appreciate some suggestions as to how to either A) make the most of the butter as it stands or B) how to improve upon my butter would be appreciated. i do have plenty of fresh flowers, some ABV and a bit of kief at my disposal.

Easy chocolates treedibles

Ingredients needed: 1) 1/8th oz. of potent cannabis flower 2) 3.5 to 4 ounce DARK chocolate 3) 2 teaspoons of coconut oil or ghee 4) 2 teaspoons of sugar (approx) 5) (Optional - 4 capsules of sunflower lecithin) A) Small saucepan B) Silicon chocolate mold(s) that can divide the chocolate into 18-36 pieces. C) Small silicone spatula

Take 1/8 oz of cannabis that has been decarboxylated broken into small pieces.

Put 2 teaspoons of sugar into a coffee grinder, and spin the blades for a few seconds. This coats the inside surfaces with a fine powder so that the resin doesn't stick to everything.

Then add the 3.5 grams of marijuana to the grinder and keep going until everything is reduced to the consistency of talcum powder.

Put the small saucepan on very low temperature, enough to heat two teaspoons of coconut oil to under 200 F. Sprinkle in the powdered weed and sugar mix into the oil while stirring to prevent clumping. Lecithin makes THC and CBD more bio-available, so I cut open 3-4 sunflower lecithin capsules and add it as well. Finally, add in 3 to 5 ounces of dark chocolate, and mix until well blended.

Pour into 1 or several chocolate molds, depending on how strong you want each serving. Put in the refrigerator or freezer to solidify. For each 1/8th oz or 3.5 grams, I suggest starting with 30-36 pieces. Try one and wait 2 - 3 hours before taking another.

Adding coconut oil and lecithin makes chocolate melt at lower temps, so using high cacao % dark chocolate counteracts that. The sugar also helps counteract the strong flavor of marijuana. You can also add mint oil flavor to mask the cannabis taste.

Cannacaps made with cannabutter. treedibles

So i made some cannacaps following old hippies recipie on his site and they came out great. Now i want to make some more but instead of using the coconut oil i want to make it with some cannabutter that i have left over. But i wonder if there will be some type of problem with since - the butter is being used here and it already has thc in it, which makes me think its been heated up before and through this process already. Oh and the butter is just pure liquid if i leave it out of the refrigerator.

Thoughts? This should result in some extremely potent caps no?
