If my daughter disappeared, *this* is the photo we'd release intrusivethoughts

There's a recent photo of my 9-year-old daughter hanging on our refrigerator, and it's an absolutely beautiful picture. They took it at school, for a display of students who are new this year (not the official school photo), so it was a complete surprise to me when it came home.

I'm not sure why, but every time I see the picture, I think, "If something were to happen to her, this is the photo we'd give to the police and the media. This is the photo that would appear on local news reports and on 'Missing' posters. This is the picture that would tear our hearts out, in retrospect."

Thankfully, it's not a very vivid or in-depth scenario in my head (though I've certainly had those). But I find it hard to escape it; a few days ago, it had me in tears as I stood in the kitchen, gathering ingredients for dinner...
