/r/Gaming Game of the Year Awards 2017 - Results gaming

Welcome to /r/Gaming's Game of the Year awards!

Disclaimer: Terrible humor below. This is a popularity contest for those who voted, not a super big deal! The best "Other" category is not always the top answer either.

Biggest Letdown of 2017:

Rank Game Votes Percentage
#1 Star Wars: Battlefront 2 5,519 47.3%
#2 Mass Effect Andomeda 2,655 22.8%
#3 Destiny 2 1,839 15.8%

How do you get everyone to hate a movie franchise that has a large portion of their franchise indebted to games as well? Lock nearly all progression off behind loot crates which can also be purchased. Damnit EA.

"Other" choice award:

still can't buy gf :(

also

you

... thanks

/r/Gaming's biggest controversy

Rank Game Votes Percentage
#1 Star Wars: Battlefront 2 8,484 72.5%
#2 Net Neutrality 2,217 18.9%
#3 Mass Effect: Andromeda facial animations 361 3.1%

Early on, EA is running away with the most rewards. Probably not the way they wanted to though..

"Other" choice award:

This terrible poll

You're the one taking it!

"Early Access Done Right" Award

Rank Game Votes Percentage
#1 PlayerUnknown's: Battlegrounds 3,587 34.7%
#2 Fornite 3,113 30.2%
#3 Divinity: Original Sin II 2,609 25.3%

The 1v1 battle between games that pride themselves in a one against all free-for-all; how oddly poetic. PUBG walks away one shot away from death, with this one by only a few hundred votes.

"Other" choice award:

The Witcher 3

ಠ_ಠ

Best Debut Indie Game

Rank Game Votes Percentage
#1 Cuphead 7,880 73.5%
#2 Hollow Knight 1,765 16.5%
#3 Slime Rancher 464 4.3%

While Golf Story and Hollow Knight were some of this year's best indie games, Cuphead walks away with this one in stunning fashion.

"Other" choice award:

Doki Doki Liturature Club

You all really made me aware of the mistake I made in forgetting this title.

Best Independent Game

Rank Game Votes Percentage
#1 Cuphead 6,079 57.2%
#2 Hollow Knight 1,438 13.5%
#3 Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice 1,339 12.6%

I mean, I almost didn't ask this or the last question because I just assumed at this point it would win.

"Other" choice award:

Why is there a trout under the TV Adam? Is this some kind of joke? A cry for help? What am I to make of this? What are you doing? Put down that knife. PUT DOWN THAT KNIFE, ADAM!

#1 Red Dead Redemption II 4,261 38.1%
#2 The Last of Us Part II 2,855 25.5%
#3 Monster Hunter: World 1,878 16.8%

Hear me out. 3 protagonists. A Union solider, a Confederate solider, and a Native American. They have to work together to find a ton of gold somewhere. They aren't friends and are constantly at each other's throats. The game ends with a three-way Mexican Standoff where the outcome is determined by the player.

"Other" choice award:

Every game

That's the spirit.

Best Esports Game

Rank Game Votes Percentage
#1 Overwatch 3,569 33%
#2 Rocket League 2,630 24.3%
#3 League of Legends 1,687 15.6%

"Other" choice award:

Rainbow Six: Siege

Wouldn't have won outright, but your voice and opinion should definitely be noted. Rainbow Six: Siege is a community favorite and has stuck around a lot longer than most of us probably thought. Kudos to Ubisoft on this one.

Best Multiplayer

Rank Game Votes Percentage
#1 PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds 4,338 40.3%
#2 Fortnite 1,856 17.2%
#3 Mario Kart 8 Deluxe 1,499 13.9%

Looks like we've got ourselves some buttery roasted chicken. I might head over to KFC after I'm finished writing this. /r/HailCorporate

"Other" choice award:

The Witcher 3

I've actually seen this voted for in almost every category now, regardless if it even fits. I have a feeling someone went through this entire thing while wearing the Witcher medallion around his neck, "Yessss, my preciuous."

Best Sports/Racing Game

Rank Game Votes Percentage
#1 Forza Motorspot 7 2,550 29.3%
#2 Fifa 18 1,387 16%

Rank Game Votes Percentage
#1 XCOM 2: War of the Chosen 3,166 33.2%

http://ift.tt/2lXUoax

"Other" choice award:

Rank Game Votes Percentage
#1 Super Mario Odyssey 4,849 46.5%
#2 Mario Kart 8 Deluxe 4,129 39.6%
#3 N/A N/A %

I debated calling it "The Nintendo Game of the Year", but held back since Splatoon (The third place winner) wasn't really even close. In the race between the world's two favorite Mario games, the winner is.. Nintendo!

"Other" choice award:

Hunniepop

( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Best Fighting Game

Rank Game Votes Percentage
#1 Injustice 2 3,808 40.8%
#2 Tekken 7 2,200 23.6%
#3 ARMS 1,295 13.9%

Guess it really wasn't an ARMS race, was it? HA. Haha.. Sorry I did that joke such Injustice

"Other" choice award:

the one where the guy hits the other guy

Yeah, me too.

Best Role Playing Game

Rank Game Votes Percentage
#1 Persona 5 2,163 20.7%
#2 Divinity: Original Sin 2 2,142 20.5%
#3 South Park: The Fractured But Whole 1,986 19%

We were really spoiled this year weren't we? Not every RPG lover will like all of this, but Persona 5 and Divinity proved to be legendary sequels. Then you could kick back and laugh at fart jokes all day on South Park. A deservedly close race. Even NieR was NieR the top (I'll stop soon, I promise).

"Other" choice award:

Horizon Zero Dawn

While very light on the RPG elements, for the number of votes you folks placed it's worthy of being mentioned. Again, I reiterate, we were spoiled this year.

#1 The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 4,779 42.9%
#2 Horizon Zero Dawn 2,565 23%
#3 Super Mario Odyssey 1,294 11.6%

After coming two points away from tying one of it's predecessors for the highest metacritic score of all-time, Breath of the Wild deservedly sits in the number one spot. While Mario also tied Breath of the Wild in terms of meta score, it seems users agree it's their pick of the two.

"Other" choice award:

NieR Automata

From Video Gamer, "NieR: Automata has more creativity and self-awareness in its little finger than most games have for their entire run time. Don’t miss this because it’s sandwiched between other, bigger games."

Best Action Game

Rank Game Votes Percentage
#1 Cuphead 3,634 34.7%
#2 Wolfenstein II 3,124 29.8%
#3 Nioh 1,411 13.5%

Our winner was just a Cup-a-head when it came to the vote totals. A slim 500 votes.

#1 Metroid: Samus Returns 3,428 40.4%
#2 Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadow of Valentia 1,914 22.6%
#3 Monster Hunter Stories 1,824 21.5%

Game Informer said it best, "This might be Samus’ first 2D adventure in more than a dozen years, but it’s a great reminder of why we fell in love with the franchise in the first place."

"Other" choice award:

Pokémon Ultra Moon/Sun

Wins with about 20 votes because I'm dumb and forgot to put it in here.. Also, there was the obligatory "Corey in the House".

Best Mobile Game

#3 Monument Valley 2 1,798 20.3%

Nintendo went all out for mobile this year. Excuse me, Nintendo Game Software.

Soon you'll be able to play it on a refrigerator.

Best Shooter

Rank Game Votes Percentage
#1 Playerunknown's Battlegrounds 2,625 24.2%
#2 Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus 2,193 20.2%
#3 Fortnite: Battle Royale 1,070 9.9%

For every one person that is aware of EA’s shit and decides not to buy the game or merchandise there are at least two ignorant souls who frankly don’t care or don’t know well enough and buy the game anyway. We need to do more! gaming

This post comes from experience, a very sad, depressing experience. Someone I know (and have shared countless reminders of EA’s business practices to) went out and bought the game with a refrigerator. I didn’t even know there was an edition like that but this person sought it out and purchased it in full citing “I don’t care” and “it won’t affect my experience of the game”.

Even if this person changes their mind when they realize the insane amount of time (1000s of hours) or money (2000something $$) that they have to put into this game just to get at the content that should be free after what we pay to purchase a full game it won’t matter.

Why not? Because this person would GLADLY repeat this cycle in the exact same way if the opportunity arises (and it will arise). I know that he is entitled to all the suffering he deserves from just playing the game for doing this and that it might be punishment enough for buying into EA’s MTXs, with a mini fridge to boot (seriously who even releases their game with a mini fridge anyway? I mean it’s cool and all but what another blatant money grab!).

But the real problem here in lies with us smart gamers that knowingly refuse a game with gambling as its main staple. How are we supposed to get anything accomplished over at that very corporation which we wish to change if people like my dude above keep doing what they do?

We need to do more. We need to reach out to anyone we know and talk about how EA doesn’t deserve your money. We need to spread the word. Even though there are people like I mentioned above that might not change no matter what at least telling everyone about what’s going down will let at least a few more people make a more informed decision in purchasing or boycotting battlefront (EA) II and hopefully create better games in the future where maybe the only loot boxes are only for cosmetic non-progression items.

Thank you for your time.

A review of "Fallout 4" a friend of mine made, i thought i share it with you. (/spoiler) gaming

A Review by some die hard, old "Fallout Fan", after more than 900 Hours of gameplay.

Spoilers included. Swearing included. Truth included.

Lets get right into it.

1: Special Perks/Skills: They don't influence anything! In previous Fallout titles, every perk, every skill you've achieved, no matter if it was for charisma, strength, intelligence and so on, influenced your game experience with unique dialogue options and other things. Its gone now!

2: Engine: The fact you guys still use this old, heavily modified morrowind-engine, not only shows how you guys are unable to evolve as a game development studio, it also shows that you guys probably don't want to evolve, because you think your games are the pinnacle of open world RPG's - well hear the news - THEY ARE NOT.

3: Karma-System: The karma-system is missing! Despite the fact someone have thought that this won't be a problem afterall, it's a huge problem and another step downhill for a once great game ! While FO3/NV had a karma system. Fallout 4 does not have it, and it takes away the feeling that the world is reacting to your actions! It takes away the soul and everything else which gave immersion for the choices you made ingame! Cause nothing actually really matters now! "Eradicate Diamond City? Who cares, go on, you lost your stupid son so I will forgive you!"

4: Popularity-System: This one was also cut, or was never planned to be ingame because Bethesda didn't want to spend time on this! FO:NV greatly introduced this system, and it was absolutely awesome having the choice to be friends with nearly EVERY faction present ingame, depending on the choices you made!

5: Building-System: Depsite the fact I've spend tons of hours building settlements - which at the end didn't served any real purpose than being cosmetic crap like everyhing else in this game, this system is so unbeliveable broken and almost unusable, that the easiest constructs sometimes made you grind your teeths of frustration! Thankfully to your community, all the mods helped eradicate the undone stuff you left over!

6: DLC's: Excluding Far Harbor and Automatron, all the other DLC's are an absolute joke, and an underwhelming experience, and not worth their money. Too much workshop stuff, which wouldn't be so bad if settlements - like I said before - would serve more than just an cosmetic purpose.

And Nuka World ... Holy fu**, how I hate it! I even prefer the horse armor! I wouldn't even mind it, if it just was some small addon in the middle of other DLC's, but the fact that it really is the last DLC, is such an complete disappointment, I have no words left for it. The quests, the raiders, the wasteland - everyhing is mediocre at it's best, probably much worse.

7: Special-Items: None of them actually has some special design or some special "enchantment", nothing feels unique, everything is just the same stuff! At least in Skyrim some of the special items were unique, not all, but some, but in Fallout 4 nearly every special item isn't special! Copy paste at it's finest! Every reward is just underwhelming. Think it's not important? Well, maybe it ain't imported for some kiddos with low standards, but for true fans - IT IS IMPORTANT!

8: Mainquest: Probably the most miserable mainquest I've ever saw in a game, and the fact that I really don't have another choice than blowing up this or that faction at the end, is just lazy writing and lazy development.

GIVE ME SOME REAL ALTERNATIVE!

THATS THE PROBLEM WITH PRE-DEFINED CHARACTERS IN AN PSEUDO-RPG. YOU DON'T REALLY HAVE A CHOICE TO MAKE IT "YOUR" CHARACTER. YOU ARE BOUND TO A BACKGROUND STORY. FO:NV DID A GREAT JOB WITH THE COURIER! THATS WHAT I CALL AN RPG-ELEMENT.

9: THE LORE: Some big problem with Fallout 4 !

WHAT THE **** WERE BETHESDA THINKING WHEN MAKING THIS LORE ******* X-01-Quantum-Power-Armor and put it into Nuka world? The X-01 - Advanced Power Armor - Was made by the enclave in the year 2215, put into duty in 2220, served until the year 2270 !

YOU CAN'T PUT THIS ARMOR INTO NUKA WORLD! NUKA WORLD IS PRE-WAR! IT MAKES NO SENSE! YOU CAN'T JUSTIFIE IT! EVEN IF BRADBERTON HAD TIES WITH PRE-WAR GROUPS OF THE MILITARY, THE ADVANCED POWER ARMOR NEVER WAS INTENTED TO BE A PRE-WAR PROTOTYPE ! IT NEVER EXISTED PRE-WAR! IT WAS MADE ABOUT 150 YEARS LATER BY THE ENCLAVE!

IT ALSO NEVER MADE SENSE THAT THIS MANY PARTS OF THE X-01 ARE SCATTERED AT PRE-WAR MILITARY-CHECKPOINTS! WHY WOULD THEY! IT'S ENCLAVE... IT-MAKES-NO-SENSE!

AND WHAT THE **** IS THE T-60 POWER ARMOR SUPPOSED TO BE!? I COULD UNDERSTAND IT'S EXISTENCE IF IT WOULD BE MADE BY THE BROTHERHOOD OF STEEL AFTER THE EVENTS OF PROJECT PURITY AND THE ADAMS AIR FORCE BASE, IT WOULD MAKE SENSE IF IT WAS AN UPDATE OF THE BROTHERHOODS T-45 POWER ARMOR. BUT IT ISN'T!

THE T-51 WAS THE PINNACLE OF PRE-WAR POWER ARMOR! NOT THE T-60! IT'S PRE-WAR EXISTENCE IS OBSOLETE! AND THIS MAKES NO SENSE! IT'S ANOTHER FAILURE AT RESPECTING YOUR OWN WORLD!

AND WHAT ABOUT THE GHOUL-CHILD LIVING IN A REFRIGERATOR FOR 200 YEARS! GHOULS ALSO NEED FOOD AND WATER! THEY ALWAYS DID!

IT'S NOT ABOUT REALISM, IT'S ABOUT THE CONSISTENCE OF YOUR WORLD! YOU JUST CAN'T CHANGE THIS CONSISTENCE! BECAUSE IT WILL END IN A NON-LOGICAL MASH-UP!

J.R.R TOLKIEN ONCE SAID YOU HAVE TO RESPECT THE RULES OF THE WORLD YOU CREATED! OTHERWISE YOUR WORLD IS DOOMED!

10: Mapdesign: Excluding Far Harbor AGAIN, the overall Mapdesign is just terrible and horrible boring! Even the mojave desert is far more enjoyable - AND IT'S A DESERT!

And nuka world's wasteland... Just some flat piece of dirt with mutated inhabitants and a theme park! And the locations, well, most of the time they don't serve any real purpose than being cells for loot! I can't remember one cave, one location which awarded me with some real special gun or armor, or quest!

AND THE MAP IS SMALL! ♥♥♥♥! NEARLY 1/3 OF THE COMMONWEALTH IS WATER! IGN 2/10 - TOO MUCH WATER!

11: Dialogue-System: PROBABLY EVERY GAMER AROUND THE WORLD IS ON MY SIDE AT THIS ONE!

THIS CATCHPHRASE-DIALOGUE-SYSTEM IS SO MESSED UP! DESPITE THE FACT THAT IT ANYWAY DOESN'T MATTER WHAT YOU ARE GOING TO SAY IN THIS GAME, YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT YOU ARE GOING TO SAY EXACTLY! ITS QUICKSAVE AND RELOAD EVERYTIME, UNTIL YOU GET AN ANSWER THAT FITS YOUR STYLE!

WHY ARE YOU ******* GAME-DEVELOPERS ALWAYS TRY TO FIX SOMETHING THAT AIN'T BROKEN!

AND COMPARED TO OTHER FALLOUT TITELS, WHICH OFFERED DOZENS OF ANSWERS, THIS NEW SYSTEM LIMITS THOSE OPTIONS TO A TOTAL OF 4! WHICH IS SO ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥! YOU MUST BE A REAL OBSCURE PERSON TO COME UP WITH SUCH AN IDEA!

BUT THATS THE TYPE OF GAME WE ARE FACING TODAY! KEEP IT SIMPLE, MAKE IT EASIER, BECAUSE MORE PEOPLE WILL BUY AND PLAY IT THEN!

12: Copy-Paste-Quests: You recycle quests from previous titles. What is going on with your writers?

13: Factions: The Factions. They all are somehow boring. Esspecially since the most epic nemesis - the enclave - doesn't even get more than two mentions in Fallout 4 - like they've never ever existed.

Institute: Canon-Died-Pseudo-Enclave-Replacer.

Railroad: PETA of the wasteland.

BoS: Technology hording troglodyts.

Minuteman: Faction you are somehow bound to without any other choice.

14: Nuka-World-Raiders: Again nothing more than cosmetic trash. I can't progress with them in the mainquest. It doesn't matter that I joined them. Preston says kill them - EVERYHING IS GOOD AGAIN.

While there are still many things I'd like to mention, I guess it's enough if I say that Fallout 4 is an absolute waste for every true fallout fan. It's nothing more than a cosmetic silhouette, an outline of a once great game.

If theres any hope for Fallout, than it's name is Obsidian Entertainment.

Satirical essay on violent video games gaming

(Excuse mind and my friends grammar, it was an essay we made for English class on satire 11th grade)

There are people living in our society that are grenades waiting to explode. You might not always know one by looking them in the eye, but they exist nonetheless. The “pin” on these grenades, per se, are today’s realistic violent video games. With the graphical innovation movement sparked by companies like Nvidia Corp. and AMD, video games have gotten so extremely realistic that it is impossible to tell what is real life and what is just fantasy. Because of this, a person could lurk in their basement for three days straight and then come out a potential school shooter, due to the things they have seen or played within the virtual world. It is well documented that people who have committed crimes in the past have been influenced solely by violent video games (I mean, it is not like the people committing these atrocities could have been mentally unstable or anything). It is imperative that these mindless zombies be eliminated from our society in order to prevent massive tragedies like ones that have happened before. Humans, much like their primate ancestors, tend to copy what they see. The common proverb “monkey see, monkey do” is terrifying when applied to this context. Imagine someone playing a game like Grand Theft Auto V, a game where the main objective is to accumulate as much money as you can, regardless of what illegal means get you there, and then trying the same thing in real life. The game incorporates guns, drugs, rape, and other illicit activities into its addictive gameplay. Would you really want someone under the influence of these unlawful thoughts walking the same roads as you and your loved ones? Would you take the risk of letting such psychopaths into our society? How about a gamer who plays the game Titanfall 2, where the story is about defeating robots the size of skyscrapers? Would you feel comfortable letting this person near your car, or maybe even your refrigerator, given their hostile mentality toward technology? Our solution to this problem is very simple: exterminate those who play these violent games before they have the chance to take the lives of the innocent people of our world. One might say, why kill them? Why not just put them in jail? But you have to realize, these people are monsters. Having played games like The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Watch Dogs 2, these creatures are highly trained in picking locks and finding their way out of jail. Even killing them is risky, as they may just respawn, 5 seconds later, as their in-game alter-egos do when they die. However, this is a risk that must be taken, given the destruction that these individuals have the potential to cause. Going further, we propose that aiding in the development, or playing such games be a crime punishable by death. Even though it is simply impossible to monitor who plays these games, this should weed out all of the rowdy individuals who engaged in such garbage simply for harmless entertainment, but those who truly seek the downfall of society will not succumb to such empty threats of ours. For those individuals, the compulsion to imitate these games is too strong. Their punishment must be more severe. We must use these individuals, and the violent skills that they have acquired, and use them as watchdogs to catch their own kind: those who actively seek the downfall of the human race through the medium of violent video games. After all, as the old saying goes, it takes a crook to catch a crook. According to recent studies, “150 million americans (71% teenagers) play video games” (ProCon). This is a huge number when compared to the American population which is 300 million people. This poses a very potential and dangerous outcome between the relationship of these mindless organisms and innocent, intelligent, superior humans. Since anyone that ever touches a video game automatically becomes a psychopathic monster, each one of them will kill someone else, and all of America would become a wasteland in the matter of seconds. This however, is not only America’s problem. Video games not only transforms normal human beings into demons, but it also teaches them skills that they would not be able to acquire any where else. “23% percent of video games incorporate flying airplanes” in addition to the “35% of video games that incorporate conquering or destroying civilizations” (VideoGameInfo). This means that once all the humans in america are killed, roughly 38 million gamers (25% of 35 million) will fly to other countries and spread this disease to others. You might have thought that a zombie apocalypse would be the end of humanity, when the real plague was already eating away at our species for decades. Of course, we cannot accomplish this by ourselves. We require a credible and motivated society of people to help us catch these animals. Do not be the person that does not report these addicts to the nearest police department or call our new and functional hotline 1800-FUKVG. Without your help we cannot catch these criminals and make sure the human race continues to develop without these monstrosities. This is the only way to solve this problem so do not argue with us by providing us alternative solutions. Do not try to feed the public that bull excrement of how video games can be monitored by a parental guardian, or even worse, change the requirements to buy a violent video game. Who has the time create new laws on how to enforce video game regulation by using background checks or other extreme measures like asking the age of the consumer? Be a good samaritan by reporting this dangerous group of people to officials no matter who it is. Whether it be friends or family, anyone that plays violent video games are dangerous, so our modest proposal must be put into effect immediately.

That amazing looking Detroit game has me interested in Heavy Rain. Does the PS4 still have glitches and whatnot? gaming

"PS4 version" is what I meant to type. Noticed this in the Eurogamer review:

Unfortunately, not every asset has been improved in the remaster. While the majority of the game operates in real-time, Heavy Rain does make use of pre-rendered videos in a number of key sequences. These videos appear to have been remade on PS4 at a higher resolution but the results are disappointing due to playback issues. Namely, these videos now exhibit screen tearing, judder, and severe macro-blocking. While the PS3 original makes use of 720p videos, the bitrate appears to be much higher while playback is more fluid. Effects work, such as motion blur, has even been toned down for reasons unknown - something that also applies to the few sections which employ motion blur in real-time.

Then we have a more serious concern - bugs. While playing through the PS4 version of Heavy Rain, we ran into a surprising number of show-stopping bugs and glitches. On first boot, we were presented with an uncomfortable strobing image effect. We squinted our eyes and attempted to push on only to be greeted with an introduction sequence where animations played back at, perhaps, five per cent of the intended speed. Blowing leaves visible just outside the window were updating at 30fps, but Ethan's animations juddered along in slow motion while text continued to flicker. A full reboot of the PS4 was necessary to overcome this. After discussing the game with someone else covering it, it became clear that we weren't the only ones to encounter this issue at startup.

Beyond that, there were numerous positioning and context bugs that popped up at various points. While attempting to feed Shawn early in the game, for instance, Ethan warped from the refrigerator over to the kitchen table and started vibrating wildly as the frozen pizza clipped through his left leg. We had to restart the entire scene to push beyond this. In other instances, characters would randomly warp to other rooms or areas when attempting to interact with something. In other instances, visual glitches would pop-up at random when transitioning between different camera angles.

Sounds...bad. Should I just get the PS3 version?

Meow Wolf's -The House of Eternal Return is a video game you can experience in the real world gaming

TLDR: If you are anywhere near Santa Fe, NM go see this if you like video games with mysteries, secret rooms and exploring.

The House of Eternal Return is an interactive art exhibit in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

WAIT don't go. Calling it an interactive art exhibit is like calling Fallout 4 a scripted FPS. It is so much more, it is as if someone took the 7th Guest, Myst, Portal, No Mans Sky, and a slew of other video games and made them real. Then they turn you loose to walk through this world.

It is built inside an old bowling alley, and you start out standing in front of a two story Victorian house that looks like the one on the cover of the 7th Guest. And just like the 7th guest, there is a underling mystery that you can solve, if you want to. From here you can go anywhere, if you see a door, and it opens, you can go through it, secret passages, they are all over the place, I went through the one in the refrigerator.

Every object can be picked up and looked at, played with, and every knob or switch seems to do something. Sit down in the master bedroom, and use the computer there, sure, it helps to tell the story. Open the mailbox in the front yard and read the letters, yes, more backstory. It is a lot like any video game where you find notes, clues, or holotapes that tell the back story. To me it was much along the lines of Halo ODST backstory, but mashed up with some HP Lovecraft.

After you go through a secret passage, or even just into the back yard, things get strange, and wired. The world you are in changes as well, drawing heavily not only on SciFi elements but fantastical worlds. Once again you can explore everything, touch everything. I spent two hours walking around, and I could have easily spent two more.

This was obviously influenced by video games, and built by gamers. No I don't have any pictures from my visit. But if you want to see some and read more about this, check out the Ars Tech article about it.

I commonly buy a video game and play it so much the first day that I dream about it at night, I am in the game in my dream. This is the first time that I have had that feeling in my waking life.

How much power is too much power for a single wall socket/outlet? gaming

I figure I would get the best answers by posting here.

In my man cave I have 3 wall outlets. The first outlet, I have one 6 outlet surge protector with Xbox One, PS4, laptop, router, TV, and sound bar. The second outlet I have a treadmill, followed by a three outlet protector for my wireless charger, sub charger, and box fan. Third outlet has my battery charger and mini refrigerator.

How much power to one outlet would be too much before it becomes da gourds or a fire hazard? I want to build a gaming PC and throw it in with the same wall outlet that powers my tv, ps4, Xbox one, router, and sound bar. Of course I would have to get a bigger surge protector.

Help me protect my house from burning down! Should I be fine?

Edit: I'm in America by the way.
