The moments when you get a pun are the best ClickerHeroes

One of the last ones I got was Referi Jerator being refrigerator, and that was because I never looked at the name properly, and I gave it a chuckle

But last night I realised I was pronouncing Siyalatas totally wrong

Ancient of abandonment, See Ya Laters

I love the pun filled humour of this game

Oh my goodness, I *just* got it. ClickerHeroes

Referi Jerator.

Referijerator.

Refrigerator.

Won't admit how long I've been playing this game and just assumed he was some sort of tropical referee.

Literally facepalming myself as I type this.

Please tell me I'm not the only one?

Can't believe it took me so long to realize that the fire mage and ice mage names are play on words for "Broil in the oven" and "refrigerator"

The Easter Eggs on Clicker Heroes ClickerHeroes

This post is meant to showcase the Easter Eggs/references lurking behind Clicker Heroes. It's meant to be as comprehensive as possible or at least to what my knowledge of it is limited to.

If I have missed anything, please feel free to let me know and I'll add it to the list! (This post is still a WIP)

HEROES

  • Betty Clicker - A reference to 'Betty Crocker', a General Mills brand/trademark.

  • Bobby, Bounty Hunter - Reference to 'Boba Fett, The Bounty Hunter', a fictional character in the Star Wars universe.

  • Referi Jerator, Ice Wizard - Play on the word 'Refrigerator'.

  • Broyle Lindeoven, Fire Mage - Play on the words 'Broil in the Oven'.

  • Orntchya Gladeye, Didensy Banana - Is a play on words as well as a punchline to an old and corny "Knock-knock" joke "Orangeyou glad I didn't say Banana?"

  • Phthalo - Correct pronounciation is 'Thay-lo' but most call her 'Potato'.

  • All new Heroes starting at Dread Knight and below are a poke at the Power Rangers. When v0.17 was released, the names of the Heroes were based on the color of their armor. (Eg: Dread Knight=Black Ranger, Atlas=Blue Ranger, Terra=Forest Ranger, Phthalo=Green Ranger)

CENTURION/BOSSES

  • Centurion Boss Omeet - Zone 100. A reference to a League of Legends champion/character by the name of Teemo. Omeet's name spelled backwards is 'Teemo'. Teemo is religiously hated throughout the LoL community and has an alternative nickname called 'Satan'.

  • Centurion Boss Woodchip, the Rodent - Zone 300. A reference to Master Splinter from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The description also states he use to be a Kung Fu master but let himself go probably due to one too many pizzas.

  • Centurion Boss Rashon, the Duke - Zone 600. A reference to 'Roshan the Immortal', a neutral creep/boss in Dota2. Upon death, Roshan drops the item 'Aegis of the Immortal' to the team of players who successfully defeats him. The description for Rashon, the Duke similarly refers this to the "5 adventurers who stole his Aegis".

  • Centurion Boss Tako - Zone 800 & 900. Is a reference to 'Ultros' or alternatively known as 'Orthros', a reccurring enemy character in the Final Fantasy series. Ultros is portrayed as a carnivorous purple octopus. The word Tako(タコ) in Japanese also means Octopus. He's also a pervert.

  • Centurion Boss Lagomorph of Caerbannog - Zone 1000. A reference to the 'Killer Rabbit of Caerbannog' from the film Monty Python and the Holy Grail. The term 'Lagomorph' loosely translates to Rabbit (it's actually a certain species of rabbits/hares and are members of the taxonomic family Lagomorpha).

ANCIENTS

  • Argaiv, Ancient of Enhancement - Read backward becomes 'Viagra'. Get it? (chuckles) Ancient of Enhancement.

  • Bubos, Ancient of Diseases - A reference to the Bubonic Plague.

  • Dogcog, Ancient of Thrift - Named after one of the developers by the name of 'Doogog'. Ancient of Thrift can possibly mean he's a cheap person IRL. #Kappa

  • Dora, Ancient of Discovery - A reference to a popular kid's television show by the name of 'Dora the Explorer'.

  • Fragsworth, Ancient of Wrath - Named after one of the developers by the same name of 'Fragsworths'. Ancient of Wrath can possibly mean he has anger management issues IRL? #Kappa

  • Kumawakamaru, Ancient of Shadows - Possibly a reference to 'Hino Kumawaka', a man who avenged the death of his father by killing a monk using stealth in 14th century Japan.

  • Siyalatas, Ancient of Abandon - A play on the words "See you laters".

  • Vaagur, Ancient of Impatience - Reference to an impatient Reddit member by the same name who often spammed on Clicker Heroes subreddit asking for the release date of v0.12.

MISC. GAME RELATED

Catra - A reoccurring monster in the game, quite possibly a reference to the catwoman character 'Felicia' from the game Darkstalkers.

Kappa Boss - One of the rarest encounters in the game. A Kappa Boss is a Turtloid Warlock with the famous Twitch emoticon/meme 'Kappa' face in front of it. It only appears on Boss zone levels and sometimes can spawn as a 'Primal Kappa' which gives Hero Souls as well. Encountering a Primal Kappa does not give any more or less Hero Souls as compared to a normal Primal Boss.

Hidden Click Damage Messages - Holding down the SHIFT, CTRL, Q, or Z key while clicking on monsters will make the messages NOPE, LOL, CRITICAL MISS, ZERO DAMAGE, NICE TRY, MAYBE NEXT TIME, YOU LOSE appear on screen.

Should I continue grinding higher or ascend soon? Also should I bank souls or upgrade Dogcog? ClickerHeroes

Ancients: Dogcog (4); Libertas (3); Vaagur (2);

Gilded heroes: Samurai (1),Seer (2), Mercedes (2),Ma Zhu (1) ,Grant (1)

Hero Souls: 34, Souls spent on Ancients: 22, Total Souls: 56, Highest Zone: 162, Current Zone: 163, Ascensions: 5

Time since start: 4 days, 19 hours, 59 minutes, 43 seconds, Time since ascension: 0 days, 18 hours, 39 minutes, 43 seconds

Been beating a boss every 55 minutes with 8797321 and an autoclicker. Then immediately use 45 to gain spam gold on the creatures immediately after.

Heroes: Cid: 900 (Highest level that was 'cheap') [less than the gold I make in 60 seconds] Treebeast: 1025 Ivan: 975 Brittany: 975 Fisherman: 925 Betty: 875 Samurai: 875 Leon: 850 Seer: 825 Alexa: 775 Natalia: 750 Mercedes: 750 Bobby: 700 Broyle: 650 George II: 625 Midas: 600 Refrigerator: 575 Abaddon: 525 Ma Zhu: 500 Amenhotep: 450 Beastlord: 425 Athena: 400 Aphrodite: 350 Shinatobe: 275 Grant: 200 Frostleaf: 100 [I know people say focus on the lower ones; but when it takes over an hour to get enough gold to buy something...I buy whatever's cheap enough that does some difference to the damage. I mean 325-350 on Aphrodite was +400S [out of 35,539S total]. It's not like earlier when waiting to upgrade the 'good' hero took a few extra minutes...another couple hours feels more...painful.]

What's my next step? ClickerHeroes

So I've read a few guides and that put me at a rather decent spot, kind of boosted the amount of hero souls I had by about 200. But I guess I want to know what I should be doing to maximize hero souls at this point.

Ancients:

*Dora: 9

*Libertas: 4

*Mammon: 2

*Morgulis: 166

*Solomon: 1

*Fragsworth: 1

Now I know Fragsworth isn't worth it to have but at the time it was cheaper to grab it than to reroll. I'm wondering if I should use my free respec to grab 290 Hero Souls and try for a different order, or not. I know I have Morg rather early but the DPS boost is what gets me to 140 - 150 so easily. Without that it seems to take forever to get even 7 or 8 hero souls. But maybe I'm not doing something right! Halp?

Gilds (From progression and not re-guilding):

*Fisherman

*Leon

*Forest Seer

*Alexa

*Natalia

*Mercedes (x2)

*Bobby (x2)

*Refrigerator (x2)

*Ma Zhu

*Amenhotep

*Shintobe

*Grant

Edits: Added Guilds + Formatting

The big ol' thread of Easter Eggs, references, and jokes ClickerHeroes

I thought it'd be fun to make a nice compilation of all the hidden gems I've found. Feel free to post your own, I've probably missed tons and tons of them since I'm not so far in the game yet.

Level 100 boss - Omeet Omeet reversed is Teemo, which is a very hated champion in League of Legends. They look similar too! Description: How can one hamster be hated throughout the land?

Level 600 boss - Rashon Rashon is a reference to Roshan, an epic boss in DotA2 that gives a large boost to the team that slays it. The group of 5 adventurers is talking about the team of 5 people that usually slay this boss. Description: Once an Ancient, Duke Rashon become mortal when a group of 5 adventurers stole his Aegis.

Siyalatas, Ancient of Abandon Siyalatas is a word play on "See ya latas (See you later)" It's funny because he is the Ancient of Abandon.

Referi Jerator, Ice Wizard Referi Jerator is a word play on "Refrigerator" Haha, get it? Because he's cold.

Broyle Lindeoven, Fire Mage Broyle Lindeoven is a word play on "Broil in the oven"

Sniperino, Ancient of Accuracy Sniperino seems to be a reference to Hearthstone but I've never played it so I would like some context or explanation from somebody.

Bobby, Bounty Hunter Bobby is a reference to Bobba Fett, who is a bounty hunter from the Star Wars universe. Thanks to AlexD1891 for pointing it out.

Kappa There is a very small chance that instead of a boss, the Kappa boss will spawn. It will have the same stats as the regular boss, except it will have Twitch's popular Kappa face. Only a bit disturbing

Dora, Ancient of Discovery A reference to Dora the Explorer, a children's TV show. Swiper, no swiping!

Holding Shift, Z, or CTRL while clicking an enemy This will display various different texts such as "ZERO DAMAGE", "NICE TRY", and "NOPE". Reason for this is because some people might believe they actually do 10x, 25x, or 100x damage when holding the respective buttons. You still do your normal damage when you see the text appear, you just don't see the numbers.
