When dealing with normal centrifuges, I was taught to turn them off when not in use. However, regarding refrigerated centrifuges, I'm not sure what the proper protocol should be. I imagine it would not be good for your refrigerator at home to be turned on and off willy nilly, so I wonder if its the same for refrigerated centrifuges.
Does your lab turn off refrigerated centrifuges or leave them on 24/7/365?
