My Electrolux top-freezer is emitting a high-pitched noise that's driving me nuts!
There is no fan in the unit, so I'm assuming the compressor must be the culprit. Interestingly, the sound is most clearly emitted through the sides and door of the appliance. When I put my ear to the compressor, it gets drowned out.
Sometimes the sound is quieter, sometimes louder, but it's virtually always there.
Any idea what could be causing this and whether it should be considered normal?
This is the second identical unit I've had — the first one was replaced as its top cover was broken, and it did not make the same sound.
Thanks for any insights!
