edit: *apartment
I work professionally as a voice actor in NYC and until now I've never had to deal with any noise problems. Unfortunately the new place I moved into is on the 6th floor of a very busy street. My bedroom is insanely loud from traffic. Recording in the living room helps a good deal but I still have one huge window with traffic noise coming through as well as a fairly loud refrigerator. I share this apartment with 4 other people and as much as I'd like to just board up that window with boxes and blankets, I need to keep things removable/portable. Do you guys have any suggestions on how on earth to get a clean recording or how to reduce the sound of the traffic?
I don't know if it helps but my setup is a Rode NT1A mic, Focusrite ISA One Pre, and a Scarlet 2i4 audio interface.
Any help would be incredibly appreciated.
