Dual duty ferm chamber/keezer fridges Homebrewing

Do any of you try to use one device for both jobs? I'm pretty handy with figuring stuff out and fridges are available cheap. Right now I have a kegerator with an external controller that does dual duty. Basically, sometimes I have a warm keg while I'm fermenting the next batch. It's not ideal, but it works, and when the fermenter is done I just crank the temp back down and my kegs are ready to go again as soon as they cool down. But is there a way I could build a refrigerator that could do both? Like keep the kegs cold and the fermenter cool but not cold? How is this accomplished and is there a style of fridge that works best for this? An upright top freezer style? A side by side french door style? Is such a thing even possible and if so, is it hard to do with some basic mechanical competence?
