GFCI is getting tripped by Fridge. HomeImprovement

Here's the situation. I'm installing new switches and outlets in my house to match new paint. The one outlet in the kitchen is close to the sink (I don't believe it's close enough to require a GFCI, but I put one on to be safe). This is the first outlet in a 4 outlet chain total. The last in the chain is my admittedly older fridge. After about two days with no issues the gfci trips and turns off the fridge..A quick google search shows that gfci hooked to a refrigerator can have issue like this. Is there a way to keep the GFCI installed by the sink, but have it NOT propagate it's GFCIness to the other 3 outlets?
