You don't have to hate yourself. loseit

Today I've seen a lot of posts by people who are really angry at themselves or frustrated with themselves for "failing" in one way or another.

You don't have to hate yourself, even if you don't lose a single pound. Using all the energy that goes into those thoughts will leave you exhausted.

So, just a little note for people who maybe need to see it today, if you're struggling with negative self-talk or self-esteem or patterns of thinking, and especially if you're depressed, try Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. They teach you very specific habits to change this stuff. If you're curious, you could take a look at David Burns' Feeling Good Workbook, but having someone working with you one-on-one is so helpful.

Your thoughts don't have to be your feelings. You deserve to feel ok about yourself. Really.

EDIT: Geneen Roth's books are really helpful, too. When You Eat at the Refrigerator, Pull Up a Chair has lots of small bits that are easy to process.
