If i buy a computer, and it's missing hardware I have to right to return it and either get a refund or a completed product.
Why is it that game developers can release an unfinished product and then not allow a refund? Biggest example is rainbow six. They're literally having issues with core architecture in the game. The client side tick rate doesn't match the server side. The game doesn't automatically adjust your data center connection so everyone has horrible ping.
These are all ALPHA level problems. The game is lacking so many features its not amusing. These aren't quality of life issues, these are baseline core functionality issues with the game. So, i wanted a refund, and it was denied. Why?
What makes an unfinished game any different from a malfunctioning refrigerator? I don't like the government fucking with the internet, or making obscure censorship laws when it comes to games. However, the fact that games are apparently not the same as any other "product" infuriates me. And shit game devs know this too, they can make their game look as cool as they want in trailers. They make up lies about how awesome their game is going to be on release. And most of them end up as shit shows. Something needs to be done. Rant over.
Edit: Oh yeah did i mention in rainbow six, almost everyone ends up having disconnect issues?
