Just bought a new fridge with a water line and looking to get it hooked up. My basement is unfinished and I have easy access to the plumbing (PEX). Now sitting directly below the fridge is a supply line for my exterior bibb, which would be super handy to tap into as it would require minimal plumbing, but living in a very cold winter climate is typically shut off for the winter.
If I tap into the hose bibb and install this to run my 1/4" fridge supply line off the 1/2" Pex, can I just install this sligtly after it to still have the ability to shut off the exterior water supply?
Here is a Crude MS Paint of my proposed setup. With this setup, the original shut off (labelled Bibb 1 - Shutoff) would just stay open.
