So, my refrigerator leaked. I was, of course, away for a week, so it's got my subfloor swelled pretty decently now.
The good news is that the flooring is 25 years old and needs to be replaced anyway. The bad news is that I wanted to do it on my own timetable.
So a few questions: 1) I'm guessing I need to replace the subfloor (Maybe if I'm very lucky it'll dry out and even out). I assume this is just setting a circular saw at 1/4" and cutting out the piece I need to and replacing with a new piece? The flooring is Linoleum, which is pretty wretched anyway. Frankly, replacing the subfloor is probably better than trying to peel that crap up anyway. 2) The flooring is next to cabinets. As far as I can tell, the cabinets and stove have not changed heights. Is the subfloor under them likely ok? 3) Recommendations for a freezer on the bottom fridge? I am guessing my fridge can be replaced, but I kinda needed a new one anyway.
I do have access to the subfloor from below, and can feel no moisture on the underside. I'm not sure if that's good or bad :)
Thanks for any help!
