Kegerator Question, hoping for some info! Homebrewing

So I am building a kegerator much sooner than I anticipated. I have seen so many on this sub and want to make something awesome. Naturally I have a few simple questions. I am familiar with all the internal systems and hardware required to make a kegerator work, what I am wondering about is two main things. First; I want to know if it's common at all to run liquid lines up through the separation between the fridge and the freezer in a standard top freezer, bottom fridge compartment refrigerator. It's entirely possible with the type of fridge I have as far as coils and internals go and I am just wondering if anyone has done it or if freezing of beer in the lines is too much of a concern. Second, I would like to know if anyone has ever put wood on the outside of their fridge build? I want to run shanks thru the door and Into a wood paneled outer door. I feel like liquid nails is the best option here to arrack wood to the outside. But I would love some feedback. Any and all is appreciated. Thanks everyone! Can't wait to hear some discussion!
