Bad Cold Brew from a Warm Room Coffee

So I thought this might be worth sharing. I've been doing cold brew for a few weeks now to save time, and this last batch was pretty bad. It didn't taste bitter, it just tasted... silty? it tasted like old grounds, basically. Not bitter, or acidic, but just like spent grounds - kinda like dirt.

There was only one difference between my first cold brew, which was amazing, and this one - it got really warm in my room (I left both on my desk, and my dorm doesn't have AC). It peaked at around 85F during the brewing. I guess this was enough to extract some nasties from the coffee grounds. There's also the chance that I left it for too long, but I'm under the impression that 24 hours is a pretty standard time.

so yeah - if you don't have AC, and you keep getting bad cold brew, you might want to cold brew in the refrigerator.

also, if anyone has any tips, feel free to comment. I could be totally wrong.
