Hi all, I am a senior in college. Since my freshmen year, I have gained about 35 pounds, from 190 to 226.2. I am 5'11". I have tried on multiple occasions to lose weight, but it never ends up working. I have an unhealthy love for Chinese food and potato chips, and I don't exercise consistently. That's all about to change. My goal is to get to 180 by the end of June, which is right before I start my new job as an engineer. I am not sure exactly how to lose weight best, though. I really only have access to dining hall foods and limited refrigerator space in my dorm (I am an RA, so it is in the RA office and not my room). I don't like salads, but can choke one down once or twice a week if need be. I would love to start running, but I really am not good at t at the moment. I really also don't know what to do with the weight machines in the gym, so I'm not sure if what I have done in the past is helping or hurting. I just pick a machine, follow the instructions on it, and choose a weight that seems a little outside my comfort zone. Any help on diet, exercise, or anything would be much appreciated!
