This didn't happen to me, but I watched it unfold as it happened to my aunt. Also just a disclaimer that this story is told from a non-paranormal standpoint, but my aunt believed that what was happening at the time was supernatural, so I just mention that as part of the story. Anyway, on to the story...
She had just moved into a new apartment in a pretty populated city. This apartment was part of an old victorian house that was divided from within and converted into a couple separate apartments.
It had a kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, and a stairway to a boiler room. It was decent sized, but I remember thinking it looked kinda creepy with the old victorian undertones and boiler room being there.
Anyway, after she moved in, weird shit started going down. She heard noises at night, and often found herself questioning if objects had been moved from where she thought they were before. One night while she was asleep, she heard her phone beep from a low battery, which was strange because she'd plugged it in before bed. She went out into the kitchen and found it unplugged from it's charger.
Some unknown person was sneaking around the apartment, but my aunt is all into spiritual stuff, so she believed it was something supernatural, and actually called some psychic in to figure out what was up. He went around, did his thing, whatever that was, and told my aunt it was the ghost of a little girl who lived in the boiler room, which is where she was kept in life, and where she died. I think the psychic tried to calm the spirit and ask her to leave or something, but things only escalated form there.
Many mornings she would wake up to find electronics like a certain lamp, the microwave, or her phone unplugged. This became somewhat common but she just brushed it off as the ghost not liking electronics.
One particular morning she woke up and went to the bathroom to get ready for work, and noticed faint fingerprints on her mirror that were not there before. That was a step up from what she was used to and it really creeped her out. Another time she walked into her bedroom to get something, and when she went to leave, she noticed the door was completely shut, even though she left it open, and did not hear it shut. She was seriously getting freaked out at this point, and no longer felt comfortable sleeping in the bedroom.
The breaking point was one night when she got up and went into the kitchen, and noticed the refrigerator was off when she opened it. She didn't have the strength to move it herself, so the next day her father came over to look at it, and they realized it was unplugged. They plugged it back in and put it back where it belonged against the wall. The next night, she went out to the kitchen and the heavy refrigerator was actually pulled out from it's space and unplugged. She freaked and got the fuck out of there right then, and went to her parents' house, where she moved back in.
Whoever was doing this somehow had entry to the house, sneaking around while she slept, and had unknown intentions. Who knows what could have happened if she'd stayed there and let it continue to escalate. It's pretty sinister and creeps me out just writing this from her point of view. She still believes it was a ghost.
