Refrigerator's filtered water dispenser has clear things floating in water... any ideas how to resolve? HomeImprovement

Hi All, a bit of background, this is a Kenmore side-by-side fridge. It has a water filter down at the bottom of the fridge for the ice maker and water dispenser. I keep the filter changed every 3 months or so. After a recent filter change, I was looking at the water closely and noticed clearish things floating in the water about 1mm to 3mm in size. After flushing about twice as much water thru the filter as it says to do before using, and still seeing the particles, I called Kenmore and they said it must be a faulty filter and to return. I did, but after installing the new filter and flushing, I still have the same particles.

I started trying to do some troubleshooting. Disconnected the water line connection to the wall and checked the water coming directly out of the wall to fridge's water feed. Nice and clean.

From the wall it runs to the water filter housing. Disconnected push lock fittings on the water filter housing and tested the inlet, clean.

The outlet of the filter is a bit more tricky to test I think it goes to a solenoid valve which lets the water flow when the button is pressed. The outlet of the solenoid then appears to go to a loop of line behind the crisper which I believe they refer to as the reservoir. From there it runs back to the front of the fridge and up the door to go to the water dispenser. There is a push lock fitting where it transitions to go up the door, I disconnected there and tested the water and the particles are there.

I'm going to melt some ice now to see if the particles are in there as well. I think if they are not there that could possibly rule out the reservoir loop as the water from the solenoid valve does not run thru there.

So here's where I'm at, I'm thinking those particles must be coming from either the water filter housing, the solenoid valve assembly, or the reservoir loop. Is any of this stuff common to have this issue? Just trying to figure out what to do next...

TL;DR: Don't really know much about fridge repair, found gross clearish particles floating in filtered water. Replaced filter but particles are still there. Water coming from the wall is clear all the way to the water filter housing. Trying to figure out what to do next.
