You are thrown into the world with nearly nothing. You are not prepared. It should be difficult to survive without preparation.
In dayz it is easy to survive without preparation. There is no need to ask for help. No need to team up.
People are complaining about having to eat berries 24/7. This is because- 1). loot isn't working and its hard to find needed items (crowbar. knife, axe) 2). These people aren't learning how to prepare. And frankly They don't want to. They don't know about cooking, or that food isn't only in cabinets or refrigerators.
They want the game to be "fun". It is fun. It wont be without the need to prepare.
If the drain continues to lower this game is going to be easy mode to survive. And when its easy mode to survive theres only one thing to do - Pvp.
I've helped alot of people on Darkwinter and they've helped me. Sometimes you have to protect that guy cooking and purifying water while zombie hoards come at him. This creates teamwork and bonds.
Take away the need to survive and its just a death-match.
I think it is perfect the way it is. You're constantly running out if not prepared, and You're thriving if you are.
