Small Holiday Thank You DebateAChristian

With the year coming to its close I wanted to thank everyone who has participated here. The conversation at times has been spirited, sometimes heated, often loud, but always interesting and thought provoking. If I have not said "thank you for the conversation" enough I just want everyone to know that I truly appreciate the chance to talk, share ideas, and stretch the boundaries.

As a small holiday thank you gift I leave you the following:

Gingerbread Snaps

2/3 cup shortening

1/2 cup sugar

1/2 cup molasses

1 extra large egg

3 cup flour

1 teaspoon each of baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, and cloves

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

Confectioners' sugar

Mix together the shortening, sugar, molasses, and egg. Mix together the dry ingredients and

then add them to the shortening mix.

Divide in half and roll in tin foil. Chill in the refrigerator for 2 hours or in the freezer for one hour. Slice 1/4" thick and bake on a greased cookie sheet at 350 degrees for 8 minutes for soft cookies or 10 minutes for crisp.

Remove to a cooling rack and sprinkle with confectioners' sugar. Repeat the above often and with warm chocolate milk!

Happy Holidays!

EDIT - As this is a debate reddit you are welcome to debate whether to delete my thank you gift or where you will share your own ... :)
