Just got my first electricity bill back, $688 for a 4 month period in a tiny student house. I have a few questions! melbourne

EDIT: This was a 3 month period, forgive the typo.

Hi there, I was hoping to ask a few questions about energy usage (this is my first ever energy bill) to those who have been through it all before.

I live above a bottleshop, in a small 3 bedroom apartment. My bill states that we were using on average 33kwh per day throughout Aug / mid-September, and 26 KWh for late-sep / early Oct for a small student house - which I find incredibly surprising.

My question is this, would it be out of the question that my energy company could be taking the energy usage for the bottleshop downstairs into account when calculating my bill? My address is listed as street & number (rear).

Secondly what could I do to help minimise my next bill? We have laptops either constantly on and charging, though this seems like the only potential power thirsty practice. We have a small 4-star energy rated refrigerator (424 KWh / year), no heaters or air-con, a washer and dryer (300 Kwh / year and 139 KWh / year respectively) which are used probably once or twice per week at most, and very few other appliances (microwave, kettle, iron, toaster).

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!
