Hello bakers! :) I was following this recipe, but when I got to the step where I whisk the buttermilk and melted butter, my butter congealed and went from liquid to solid. Did this happen because my buttermilk was spoiled? I've been keeping it unopened in the refrigerator, and I just opened it for this recipe. Also it says "sell by Dec 20." Or did the butter solidify because my buttermilk was too cold? I'm making these for a get-together and I just want to make sure I don't make anyone sick! I'd really appreciate your feedback! :)
