You can harness the energy of winter cold by filling empty plastic bottles with water then freezing them outside. Put the frozen bottles in the refrigerator and it won’t have to run as often. In a few days when the ice has melted, repeat the process. You may not save a ton on electricity but before we had refrigerators we had iceboxes.
Remember ice expands so don’t to fill the bottles to the top. Also don’t be one of those people that leaves the door wide open while they go out or you’ll end up losing your savings. That goes double with the refrigerator door. Know what you want before you open it.
