Chocolate and Raspberry Calzones! recipes


Chocolate and Raspberry Calzones are a fun and delicious sweet twist on the Italian Calzone pizza. Hands up whose all for a dessert pizza?!

Makes 8




  • 2 pounds refrigerated or frozen pizza dough




  • 1 cup fresh raspberries




  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch




  • 3 tablespoons sugar




  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder




  • 1 cup low fat milk




  • 1 cup low fat chocolate milk




  • 1/4 teaspoon almond extract




  • Powdered sugar




  • Chocolate syrup




  • Fresh raspberries





  1. Sit thawed pizza dough at room temperature for 1 hour.


2.Place raspberries in a bowl and set aside.




  1. In a medium saucepan, whisk together cornstarch, sugar and cocoa powder. Whisk in milk and chocolate milk. Place on the stovetop over a medium heat.




  2. Whisk constantly until mixture starts to boil and thickens. Whisk constantly for an additional 2 minutes. Remove from stove and whisk in almond extract. Pour into the bowl of raspberries, mix gently and cool slightly in refrigerator for 1/2 hour.




  3. Preheat oven to 450 degrees F (220C).




  4. Divide dough into eight pieces. Roll each into a 6-inch circle.




  5. Spoon an eighth of the pudding from the onto half of the dough circle. Fold over and seal dough with fork. Repeat with remaining dough circles.




  6. Place calzones onto two baking sheets coating with cooking spray. Bake for 10 -12 minutes, until just golden brown. Cool on rack for 15 minutes.




  7. Before serving, dust with powdered sugar. Garnish with drizzle of chocolate syrup and more raspberries if desired.
